Dragon Bonding: Standing in the middle

Chapter 13

Toothless stod in the middle of it all black glowing a blue color he got up and Hiccup came into sight laying under him glancing up as Toothless roared at the Bewilderbeast the loudest that had ever happened and came from him, it was demanding and determined, holding a sense of authority. He glanced back as Hiccup eyes turning soft a small pur coming from his throat and Hiccup looked at him a look of wonder on his face, Toothless turned back to the alpha lowering down, jumping up to the ice spike in front of him roaring once again back curled and wings raised, a show of challenge to the alpha, it returned it as if accepting the challenge "he's challenging the alpha!" Hiccup exclaimed Valka running up behind him a smile forming on her face.

"To protect you" she stated glancing at her son, Toothless fired at the leviathan not leaving any space for it to retaliate, the tusks swing around hitting the ice Toothless was on, he jumped back landing on the next continuing with the attacks, it lost focus losing control of the dragons that blinked shaking their heads looking at the Night Fury. He jumped back again landing beside Hiccup letting out a small call, sending the other dragons in their direction. Drago panicked, picking up his staff, yelling at the Bewilder beast "no, no, no, no!" he shouted running forward climbing on the tusk getting on the dragon "fight back, fight back" he continued but nothing happened, it just stood there watching them go, it was like it knew that it had already lost "what's the matter with you" he exclaimed watching as the final dragons flew past him, he turned around looking at the Night Fury the dragons forming behind him with the villagers gathering together standing tall looking at him, his eyes traveled over the people eyes landing on his children that stood with cold expressions no sympathy on their faces.

Hiccup and Toothless jumped up to the ice again standing in front of the dragon's his eyes narrowed at the man Toothless breathing heavily under him "now do you get it, this is what it is, to earn a dragon's loyalty" he shouted gesturing to the many dragons behind him, Drago was dumbfounded not being able to find any words he stared at the pair, he was nothing like what he expected him to be. This truly was Stoick's son; he knew that now, "let this end now", his voice high filled with authority, he was able to rally the people together standing with him in a way Drago never could, he had their respect; he knew that, all he had was fear. And respect always went above, but he wouldn't go down without a fight "never" he shouted ushering the bewilderbeast forward it roared at them going forward, Toothless sent a small call back to the other dragons each of them charging up Toothless fired the first shot, and the rest followed bombarding the giant with their fire leaving no open air for it to get through, Drago yelled at it to fight but nothing happened it didn't have a chance. It reared up standing above them.

Toothless powered up sending a powerful blast into the tusk, he roared a painful sound coming from its throat all the way from the large chest. The right tusk broke off landing on the ground making vibrations reach their legs. It stopped drawing back as Toothless roared at it full of domination making it physically shrink down lowering it self not looking at Toothless, it responded lowly sounding defeated glancing down as if it was ashamed, but he himself was a victim in all this forced by Drago to do his biting and that force was what would be his end "the alpha protects them all'' Hiccup spoke repeating his mothers words about the alpha, Drago's bewilderbeast wasn't a real alpha and it never would be, the giant knew it had lost it glanced at Toothless and with a grumple it dove into the water taking Drago with it. Cheers came as soon as it was gone, Hiccup glanced down into the water below hoping for some sign that he was there, cruel or not he was still Valerie and Caleb's father he glanced back at the two who had their arms around each other in celebration it didn't seem like they were going to miss him at the moment.

They jumped back to the ground Hiccup getting of Toothless the rest of the dragons following as well, a grumble was heard behind them and Toothless turned around at the large Nightshade that looked at him, she was much older and with a lot more experience, a dragon the other dragons looked up to, she held her gaze with the much younger and smaller dragon, lowering her head in a bow Cloudjumper close behind her, and when the two bowed down willingly the others followed and Toothless straightened holding his head high, showing the new position he held, he let out a grumble roaring to the sky all the others following roaring as one, all of them blending together. He turned to Hiccup who looked at him lowering his head into his hands, Hiccup smiled softly running his hand over the dragon's head "you never cease to amaze me" he stated resting his forehead against Toothless's the two closing their eyes "thank you" he spoke dragon smiled attacking Hiccup with dragon Kisses earring laughs from everyone around them, he fell to the ground laughing "Toothless, you know it doesn't wash out" he exclaimed keyword trying to push the dragon away, with no strength in his attempts.

The dragons all ran back to their owners happy expressions on their faces, Valerie hugged her dragon, that snuggled into her as she laughed. Hiccup watched everyone a smile forming on his face, Skullcrusher came over wanting some attention that he gladly gave the dragon leaning into his touch "that was some pretty fine dragon wrangling back there, you would make a fine trapper" Eret joked as he came closer arms in front of him, Skullcrusher nudged him making him jump and chuckle at the dragon, Valerie looked at him as he petted the dragon a smile forming on her face. "You know, Skullcrusher is gonna need someone to look after him now" Hiccup stated a meaning behind the words, the older male looked at him with surprise on his face "me?" he asked and Hiccup nodded. He smiled touching the dragon's nose "I'd be honored" he stated, doing all this Valerie had made her way over to the mother, that seemed out of place in between the many dragons staying completely still as she watched the dragons closely.

As if she could sense her presence she lowered down to her letting out a purr, tilting her head "hey, girl" she cued running her hand the dragon's nose she tilted her head almost enjoying the moment closing her eyes. She smiled when the dragon seemed to melt before her physically relaxing. She turned her head to Hiccup smiling as he spoke to his mother, she smiled stepping away from the dragon that looked after her Stormbreaker beside the dragon rubbing into the dragon's side making her grumble. Valerie stepped in front of him tilting her head a bit "see, it is in here" she stated placing her hand on his chest, he looked at her, a mistevius look formed on her face he hand falling down flipping the switch, making the fin on Hiccup's back jump up, she couldn't help but laugh with Valka as she shook her head he let out a fake laugh stepping closer to her "still doing that one, that's hilarious" he stated not looking at her and she just continued the laughter dyeing down until he met her eyes a loving look crossing over "come here you" he smiled pulling her to him, lips melting against hers, she closed her eyes lips parting slightly her hand going his check.

They pulled back catching their breath, a staff hit against Hiccups shoulder making him turn around looking down at the old woman standing before her, Gothi lowered her head gesturing to the burned wood beside her Hiccup stepped forward kneeling in front of her, she put some ash on her fingers rubbing them together before drawing the symbol of the chief on his forehead bowing before him, he got up smiling at Gobber that nodded "the chief has come home!" he shouted earring cheers from the entire village, Hiccup looked at them with a smile forming on his face, as all the dragon's fired into the sky creating fireworks.

Preparations were made to rebuild for the next time, the new dragons settling in quite easily, they got help from other friends of Berk that delivered some things to help. And slowly it started to return to normal or as normal as it could be. The people began to accept Hiccup as their chief. Things returned back to normal and the young adults started dragon racing again, to lift the spirits the young people flew around picking up the sheep throwing them into the net, Valerie speed past Eret smiling at him, and he joined flying after them, Hiccup wasn't joining this time as he helped the a few men by holding the wood they needed to build. Yes this was Berk, it might be trampled, beaten and covered in ice but it was home, their home. a place they grew up in and spent most of their life where family and friends were, beside the great hall, the stone workers, were working on the statue of stoick that loomed high over everything. The people that attacked them were relentless and crazy, but the people who stopped them were even more so Hiccup clapped the dragon's back as Valerie flew right past him making him look up as she turned back laughing at his face, and he smirked at her as she continued on flying over the black smith where Gobber was helping Valka get of the armor of Drago's now free dragons, the girl waved at her dad that returned it as she disappeared.

Berk may be small but they stood for something bigger than anything the world could pit against them, peace they were the voice of it, a living symbol of dragons and humans living together and with the right help bit by bit they will change the world. The black sheep was fired into the air right in front of Valerie she narrowed her eyes Stormbreaker holding out his claws for the sheep but right in front of her nose Hiccup flew in snatching the sheep making her gasp, but not long after she rolled her eyes as Toothless glanced down at her giving his famous gummy smile, he swooped around to the nets jumping of Toothless throwing the sheep into Valerie's net giving her the win. You see they had something they didn't have, sure they may have armies and amadas but they had something that could destroy both those things equal to almost both they all landed by the chief seat Hiccup right in front of it and Toothless let out a roar. They had their dragons.
