Dragon Bonding: Standing in the middle

Chapter 12

When they reached Berk it was silent, one of the beacons showing ships they were close to the island was grumbled to pieces, they gasped when they saw the large creature standing over the village, all of Berks dragons having joined the dragons flocking around above the beast, the entire village covered in light blue ice. "He took all the dragons" Fishlegs gasped as they got closer to the island, Hiccup's face hardened his gaze narrowed into slits "distract the alpha, try to keep his fokus off of Toothless" Hiccup ordered and they looked at him eyebrows raised "uh how" Tuffnut asked as Eret flew up beside his voice maken even the dragons look at him "do you forget who your riding with, there isn't a dragon alive I can't handle" he bragged putting his arms on his hips after scratching the dragon, they looked at him seeing the baby noticed something below, and as karma puts it, it dove down right when he was done speaking "exept for this one" he almost screamed and Valerie looked down at him as he stadied the dragon eyebrows lifted, she debated helping him or letting him figure it out on his own, but in the end she knew she just wouldn't leave him be, so she went down telling what he needed to, guiding him as well, both of them going up an joyning the others once again.

They swooped around landing on the ground as Hiccup got closer they readied the sheep catapult, the large dragon looked at the new chief until a sheep flew up gaining it's attention it looked at it eyes following as it went down, Eret catching the animal as more sheep was carried over "keep em coming" Valerie stated looking at her brother that placed one in the catapult, the dragon road at them drawing back but stopped when a horn sounded, making it turn it's head to the race horn but glanced back when it stopped, the black sheep flew up landing on its nose the red eyes followed the small animal for a moment before it blew the sheep of, it fell down into Eret's arms, it leaned back again roaring spreading out the small wings used for swimming and the horn sounded again, now all attention was on the horn where Fishlegs was hiding behind, it let out a grunt shaking it's head firing at it as Fishlegs screamed barely getting out of the way "I'm okay!" he shouted and they all let out a breath of relief, Hiccup was now infront of his dragon letting out a breath blowing it through his cheeks. Drago glanced away a sneer forming on his face his eyes glancing down at the young ones down below, they watched closely as Hiccup sneaked closer "you sure are hard to get rid of, I'll tell you that" he stated but Hiccup didn't respond eyes kept on his dragon calling out the name of the night fury "hey, it's me, bud, it's me I'm right here. It's me, I'm right here bud. Come back to me" he spoke inching closer, Valerie found herself growing nervous knots forming in her stomach.

The man laughed, eyes narrowing, "he isn't yours anymore, he belongs to the alpha. But please, oh great dragon master" he bowed mockingly sarcasm lacing his tone with a snarl, the alpha moved under them eyes glancing up "try to take him, he will not miss a second time" he stated pointing his spear at him, just like he did back at the sanctuary, Hiccup didn't cover continuing his approach getting closer, lifting his hand slowly holding it out palm facing them "it wasn't your fault, bud. They made you do it" Toothless didn't react, pupils completely tight barely visible because of the narrowness, mouth slightly parted. He began to react shaking his head as pupils switched between his usual wide and narrow ones under the alpha's control letting out grunts as he fought against the control, Drago glanced down a confused look on his face "you'd never hurt him, you'd never hurt me" Hiccup's face cut through the fogginess in the dragon's vision the only thing he could focus on was him.

Hiccup's hand touched his nose just like the first day they met, and formed their bond with each other all those years ago, that started their entire friendship, his eyes returned to normal and let out a purr vision turning clear for a short moment "how are you doing that?" Drago asked, noticing the change in the dragon below him, never before had he seen a dragon get out of the alpha's control even for a short moment. His eyes turned back to narrow as the control seeped back into the dragon's mind "plese, you are my best friend, bud. My best friend" and right after the dragon reacted closing his eyes tightly shaking his head with a bunch of groans for a small while, he looked at his friend's eyes turning normal vision, turning clear a small pur leaving his throat that turned into excitement and Hiccup grinned' "that's it!" he shouted the dragon leaning into his touch, Drago growled anger growing in him filling his veins and he reacted instantly "enough!" he shouted swinging the spear into the dragon's neck making it yelp, he drew it back again, swinging again Toothless snared catching the staff in his mouth, spinning around throwing the man off. Cheers were heard from the young adults down below as the Night Fury was freed from the awful man, the dragon hovered for a moment before he tumbled down from the lack of rider.

Valerie held her breath as he jumped after diving down after his dragon, Drago landing on the bewilderbeast's tusks as Hiccup continued disappearing past the cliff, silence filled the air, all of them looking at where he was last seen, Valerie clenched her fists knuckled turning white. The small black dragon suddenly rose up flying into the sky and Valerie smiled relaxing as he circled around the great hall disappearing for a moment before returning back the people looking after him, excitement filled Valerie as he flew past "take him down, babe" she shouted, making the others rise up following her lead, and suddenly he had the entire village cheering him on as they continued on getting closer and closer. It fired at them but they split up Toothless swirling up gaining the dragon enslavers attention, he laughed but stopped when he noticed the empty saddle, he gasped turning around Hiccup going right for him, he swung at him, but missed green smoak forming following where he went, he glanced back making the spark, it spread like wildflower exploiting over the dragon's head, sending the man down to the ground. Hiccup looked back groaning at the tail lifting up, his mind going back to the red death five years ago.

"Not again" he almost whined, he kept his gaze ahead not looking away "Toothless, it's now or never!" he shouted and Toothless narrowed his eyes the fins on his back splitting as he dashed forward catching his rider going up and over the tail, Hiccup laughed clapping the dragon, spinning around, landing on the ground Toothless leg going against the ground sending up the dirt blocking their vision, Hiccup jumped off pulling out inferno as Drago reached for his spear the flames hit his hand digging into the ground making the man scream turning to him "hold him there Toothless!" he ordered the dragon that growled staying close to the ground ready to pounce growling at the man. "It's all over now" he stated and Drago let out a dry chuckle looking at him "I see why she has taken to you" he stated as the dust lifted revealing the bewilderbeast behind him and he grinned "or is it over?" he asked tilting his head, a growl sounded behind him and he turned around gasping, the dragon didn't hesitate to fire, he tried to get away stumbling as Toothless jumped in. Ice stood in the place where he stood, Drago looked at it as if admiring a piece of art smiling a sinister laugh coming from him.

Valka flew in landing on the ground in front of the cold material hands landing on the ice as she kneeled down hitting against it glancing around looking for some way a sign of life but there was nothing, Valerie saw what happened pushing her way through the crowd her brother and dad behind her, the red heads face fell Hiccup was nowhere insight, she couldn't do this again watching like she did last time, but it didn't take long when a blue glow formed spreading over the ice, a look of surprise formed on Valerie's face as Valka glanced up, she gasped quickly getting up and running of, getting away again as the ice exploited from with in sending sharts everywhere.
