Sam, Max, and El all made their way back to Max's house, which was hard for Sam, but she knew she'd be okay with her girlfriend there. When they got there, Sam took one of Max's oversized shirts and a pair of shorts and changed into them. She replaced the bandaids on her knees before walking out of the bathroom and into Max's room.

Max got ready for bed, then sat down next to Sam as El began getting ready.

"I'm really sorry," Sam spoke, barley above a whisper.

"For what?" Max asked.

"For today. I shouldn't have panicked like that. I made it more stressful than it needed to be."

"Can you stop blaming yourself, please?" Max held her hands.

"But—"

"I'm serious. It wasn't your fault, I promise."

Max laid down on the left side of her bed and held out her arms. Sam wiped her eyes then laid close to her, Max wrapping her arms around the girl. A few minutes later, El came out of the bathroom. Sam sat between Max's legs to make room for her.

As El got on the bed, Max held up two comics to the girls: Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. "Which one?"

"I don't know," El said, getting under the covers.

Max set down the comics and Sam started fiddling with her girlfriend's hands.

"Hey, there's nothing to worry about anymore, okay?" Max told El.

"It doesn't make sense."

"What doesn't make sense?"

"Heather. The blood. The ice."

"Heather had a fever, so she took a cold bath, but she's better now."

"You really believe that?" Sam questioned.

"That has to be it. I don't know where that blood came from, but.. we saw her. We all saw her. She's totally fine."

"What about Billy?" El asked.

"What about him?"

"He seemed wrong."

"Wrong is kind of like his default. But it's nice to know he's not a murderer, cause that would've totally sucked."

This entire conversation just made Sam think about that night more. Billy could have killed her so easily, which was a terrifying thought. But, in all honesty, lately Sam had been wishing he had.

"Sam? You okay?" Max put a hand on her shoulder, snapping her back to reality.

"Yeah — Yeah, I'm fine."

El gave her a small, sympathetic smile before looking back at the comics on the bed. "Who.. is that?" she pointed to the Wonder Woman comic.

"See, this is why you can't just hang out with Mike all the time" Sam chuckled, handing the comic to Max.
