When Hearts Collide

Chapter Five

Joel's P.O.V

My date with Max was absolutely perfect last night. We had a fancy diner, went dancing, and then we walked and talked on the lake front telling each other about our dreams. He completely swept me off my feet, it was wonderful. No guy has ever treated me this perfectly. Or made me feel like I was walking on clouds.

I here my phone buzz. It was a text from Max.

Max: Hey babe! Can't wait to see you at school today.
Joel: Hi! I thought that you weren't starting till tomorrow.
Max: I wasn't until I met you and now I'm starting today.
Joel: Do you want a ride to school?
Max: Yeah thanks.
Joel: Ok I'll be there in like ten minutes.

When we got to school Max looked terrified. So I kissed him on the cheek and then got out to go open his door for him. He got out and grabbed my hand intertwining our fingers. "Are you ready?" I ask watching him take a deep breath in.

"Yeah let's go." He says his voice still anxious.

"Do you have your schedule?" I ask and he hands it to me as we walk into the main hall. "We have 3rd, 6th and 7th hour together and your locker is right next to mine. You have lunch with me an my friends and you've got homeroom with Haley. After school I'll give you a ride home and on Fridays we go to the mall get movies and got back to someone's house to watch them." I tell him and then walk him to his 1st hour.

"Thank you. I guess that I'll see you in 3rd hour." He says nervously then walks into class...

At lunch Alyssa, Haley, Dan, Max and I sit on the grass out behind the gym and eat.

"So Haley I just met this guy who would be perfect for you!! His name is Riley and he's totally your type!!" Alyssa squeals as if we could already hear her high pitched voice to begin with.

"Alyssa honey, I'm a lesbian." Haley says giggling at how oblivious Alyssa was.

"How didn't I know about this?" Alyssa asks tilting her head slightly.

"Because you don't pay attention when we talk about our lives. Don't you remember it's all about Alyssa?!" Dan says. Everyone laughs, including Alyssa.

"Wait! Hey! You guys were making fun of us! That's not cool!" Alyssa screeches making all if us laugh harder.

"You guys are weird." Max says still giggling.

"But that's why you love us." Haley says then kisses at the air.

We all laugh more and then the bell rings. We all go to our classes and finish out the rest of the day.
