eleven months later...
After what felt like a lifetime, the movie was finally ready. In fact, the premiere was happening in less than an hour and all the crew and cast members were already arriving at the red carpet.
Anthony was one of the first to show up, a fact that he justified with his desire to give interviews before everyone else. But deep down he knew exactly why he arrived early: Kate. He had no idea what dress she would be wearing, what hairstyle, or even what time she would be getting there. The only thing he knew was that he didn't want to miss her arrival.
For the last eleven months they've been working together to bring this movie to life. The boundaries she set were not once broken, as much as Anthony would like to.
To think that their feelings would pass with time, or that it would be as if they never felt it at all was completely absurd. Not to say an utter lie. If anything, the time they've spent "apart" only made him more crazy about her. To be near her, to hear her voice, to watch her do what she does best... It was intoxicating. He couldn't get enough of it.
But then again, whether they would have a future together or not wasn't really up to him. For now he could only wait, for both her arrival and decision.
After about 15 minutes, when the red carpet was already full, she finally appeared. Anthony knew it was her even before she got out of the limousine. However, once she did it, everything else faded for him. She was clarity in a world of blurriness, and he just stood there and watched as she shined. And gosh... how she shined.
She looked absolutely stunning in an orange dress that was the modern version of what Kathani wore on her last ball. Although he loved her usually curly hair, the way she straightened her black locks for the evening gave her a sophisticated and classy look. She was glowing like the Sun and he wasn't the only one staring, apparently. A wave of reporters and paparazzis rushed to her as soon as she stepped on the red carpet.
"Good" he thought "she deserves all the attention and praise in the world".
- You look stunning. - he affirmed once they got together for a picture.
- Thank you. You're not so bad yourself. - she looks him up and down before confessing: - I do love a man in a suit.
- I should wear it more often then. - he answers with a genuine smile.
- Maybe you should. - she says with a smirk, staring at him for a little while longer before posing again for the cameras.
Anthony's heart skips a beat even though he knows this is probably just another one of their bantering moments. They've been doing this a lot lately. Compliments, smirks, discreet flirting. But it's all just a joke. At least for Kate. Anthony, on the other hand, dies inside every time she laughs after teasing him. Yes, it was a joke but damn... how he wanted it to be true.
Many interviews and flashes later, all the cast and crew entered the movie theater in which they would watch the movie for the first time. Anthony could see out of the corner of his eyes Kate's mom, Mary, seated beside Edwina.
He wasn't surprised to see her there, not after Kate told him how things were starting to work out between them again. Apparently, Edwina got a huge role in a tv series and this new opportunity made her forget about the last one, or at least made her forgive Kate. Not that Anthony thought Kate needed her forgiveness, if anything Edwina should be asking for her sister's forgiveness and not the other way around. Kate did nothing wrong, and the (over) reactions from Edwina were purely based on jealousy. Anyone could see that.
