ISRAEL will never forget the events that keep flashing through his memory.

Everything is vivid, like a fly drawn to beautiful light and flying to its own death.

The moment his eyes landed on the woman who was sleeping peacefully by his side, he didn't utter a word and just started the engine of his car again.

The night is still long.

The endless scenery of the forest kept brushing past his eyes as he navigated through his destination.

The sounds of the silence roaming and the crickets buzzing were the only company he had.

He became aware of his phone lightly vibrating through his pocket. He looked at the woman, who was resting peacefully yet again, before he decided to connect his device to the vehicle.

"Jefe, el cadáver desapareció exactamente como lo predijiste," [Boss, the corpse vanished exactly as you predicted,] the man said immediately through the other line.

"And?"

"Acabamos de infiltrarnos en las instalaciones del gobierno, solo para descubrir que todo ya ha sido limpiado." [We have just infiltrated the government's facilities, only to find out that everything has already been wiped clean.]

Israel just stared at his phone with an indifferent look on his face. It was hard to decipher the thoughts in his head as he silently listened to the update he received.

After a short while, he spoke.

"Just continue to keep an eye on anything suspicious," he said before pausing. His eyes then wandered toward the woman before he continued. "Because a rat who tries to become the cat will surely meet his demise after a long, endless chase."

After the call ended, it was a coincidence that they were already nearing their destination.

A place with a captivating establishment built with modern equipment and luxurious materials, he was greeted by hundreds of people.

They all had either a terrified look on their faces, admiration or hatred at the sight of the man who once killed their loved ones and enslaved them.

When he leaned forward to look at the sleeping lady, he drew a smirk on his lips.

"Get up. I know you're awake," he said, wrapping one of his hands around the car seat while the other was caressing her leg.

The woman slowly opened her eyes, revealing those enticing brown orbs.

She had a small face shape with a pointed nose and porcelain doll-like skin. And whenever his eyes happen to look at her lips, he can tell with one glance how delicious it was to swallow.

The woman immediately scrunched her face. Her eyebrows knitted while she stared right at him with those flames.

Despite the fear in her eyes, this woman didn't fail to amuse him for a second.

Israel held her thigh, stroking her above her fabric.

Because she was still baffled and scared, she didn't speak a word and just let the man do whatever he wanted.

In an instance when she felt him leaning in her direction, she closed her eyes, thinking that something was about to happen again, when she just heard a click sound.

When she opened her eyes, she just noticed that the man had unbuckled her seat belt and immediately come out of the car.

"Let's go," he said coldly to her.

Too stunned to react, Althea just stared right at him.

"If you don't move, I'll have to carry you again," he said, which made her pull herself back from her thoughts.
