"He's got too much on his plate to be worried about me." I blew out my cheeks, raising my  bandaged hands up in the air. "So do I."

"Even if you think that's true, he needs to know! He's your best friend, so he should understand."

"Yeah, yeah I know and I keep saying that to myself but...there's still a part of me that's just scared of how he'll take it. I don't even know why, it's dumb."

I fiddle with the bandages in my hand, my eyes glued on the floor. However, I glance when I hear the familiar clacking of her heels step into my peripheral. She slowly plopped down once again next to me, grabbing my hand and the wrap.

"It's not dumb at all." She said with genuine sympathy. "Besides, it's none of my business and I shouldn't have involved myself. I'm sorry."

"It's fine, you're right. I was planning on telling him when y'know....there was something to tell."

"You mean when you meet a special lady?" Eden taunted, shimmying her shoulders while wrapping the remainder of the bandage between my fingers and tucked it back. She could sense my blush like a shark smells blood in the water. I shoved her lightly, causing her to giggle.

"Yes. Then and only then do I think it's the perfect time to tell him."

"I guess you gotta do whatever's right for you. I can respect that."

She pulled her fingers away and let them fall into her lap when she was satisfied with her handiwork. As she turned to put away her medical supplies, I found myself inspecting them.

"I will admit you bandaged me up pretty nicely." I concurred, tugging at the binding around my wrist. "I don't see them unraveling anytime soon."

Eden stopped me from fidgeting with it by placing a hand on top of mine. "Let's keep it that way, please."

Hesitantly, I respected her wishes and nodded, placing my hands on my knees. In return, she smiled and turned away to zip up her purse.

"I've had experience. There's been a few times I've had to bandage myself."

"What, did you have to get another pedicure or something?" I remarked before slapping a hand over my mouth. I slowly peered with raised brows to see Eden's head lowered, her auburn hair cascading in front of her face. For a second, I was sure I offended her when I couldn't gauge her reaction. When she tilted her chin up, raked spools of it back, and turned her head, though, it was clear she wasn't at all. In fact, she seemed pretty amused. Finally, her eyes fell to me and she leaned a few feet away from my face.

"He told you about the breaking nails thing, didn't he?" She asked, although it seemed she already knew the answer. I decided to tell the truth, anyway.

"He sure did."

"Yeah, well he told me about that little adam sandler comment. Frankly, I did think on the way over here I thought a guy was playing."

I snorted, stretching back fully on the couch. "Why, because of how I was dressed?"

"God, no! It was because of the ferocity in which you played. It was very attractive."

My ears perked up. "Uh, attractive? What do you mean?"

Eden turned her head to look over her shoulder at me. Under her long, fox-like lashes was a gaze slightly intimidating that it made me dart mine away out of anxiousness. I heard her chuckle before the leather couch crinkled as she turned to face me.
