2 MONTHS LATER
˝Where are you taking me Ada?˝ I asked her.
˝To the betting shop.˝ She answered simply. I was confused that she drew me out of the house so late at night. We walked into the betting shop, and, as expected, it was void of all life. I was taken into the meeting room, where the faces of Polly and Esme waited.
˝We need your help.˝ Polly started.
˝There are women trying to get with our men... Well, your men and Tommy. We want you to deal with them.˝ She continued.˝You want me to be your hitman?˝ I asked, bewilderment evident in my eyes.
˝No, no, no... You're very skilled with hair and makeup, and know how to dress really well. We want you to get us ready for the next dinner.˝ Esme said and Ada nodded.
˝The dinner in tomorrow evening. We have our dresses we just need you to do our final touches. If you want to of course!˝ Polly said.
˝Is that even a question! Of course I'll do it!˝ I screamed in happiness and we all laughed.
We gathered at my house the day after and I started getting them ready. Their makeup and hair were soon finished and I went downstairs. The men were waiting in my office.
˝You all can leave. I'll drive the ladies and myself to the dinner.˝ I said, walking into the room.
˝What? Sweetheart, we need to arrive together.˝ Arthur said.
˝No, we don't. Leave, we'll come later.˝ I said walking out.
The revving of the car was heard from my bedroom and I turned to the women.
˝I'll get ready, we'll fix our makeup if needed, have a drink and leave. Deal?˝ I said picking up the dress I planned to wear.
˝Deal!˝ Ada said and sat down. I smiled and went into the bathroom.
I got dressed and did my hair. I chatted with the girls as I did my makeup. We walked down into the office and got us drinks.
˝To some random bitches downfall!˝ I said and we clicked our glasses. We finished our drinks and put our coats on, leaving the house.
Parking near the lavish estate, we got out of the car and started our walk. As we entered the building, heads turned our way. Our arms were linked as we neared the grand hall. The doors opened for us to come in.
From the bottom of the stairs, eyes looked up at us. Our men were standing to the side, a group of women standing excessively close to them. They all turned when we entered the room. We walked up to them, smiles present on our faces. Arthur turned to me, his pupils blown vide.
˝Bloody hell, love! You look absolutely beautiful!˝ He said, taking me into his arms.
˝Thank you, my love!˝ I said and kissed him. Ada and Esme walked up to their men and did the same. Polly stood to the side, eyeing the unknown women.
˝Aren't you going to introduce us, boys?˝ One of the women said, clinging to Tommy's arm.
˝Right... That is Major Monica Winchester, my brother Arthur's girl.˝ He showed with his arm, and I turned to him. I looked over the women and none of them seemed anything special. Neither of them had anything pretty about them. Their make up was not done right, their teeth were yellow, their dresses not ironed. I didn't try to hide that I was looking them over.
˝Nice to meet you, ladies.˝ I said with an unimpressed face. They didn't seem to like the way I talked, because the second I finished my sentence, the one clinging to Tommy scoffed. I raised my eyebrow, but she didn't say a thing.
˝Spit it out.˝ I said and she looked at me, surprised I spoked to her. I was staring back at her, a defiant look on my face.˝I don't like how you looked at my sisters and I. Or how you talked to us.˝ She said, putting her hands on her hips.
˝And we demand respect.˝˝I'll give you respect when you stop hanging off of Tommy's, Arthur's, John's and Freddie's arms and give respect to our relationships. Furthermore... Once you begin looking like you deserve respect, and stop looking like a whore that just came from the street, then I'll decide if you deserve respect. If you're coming to an event, iron your dresses, redo your make up, brush your teeth and take care of your nails.˝ I went off on her, saying everything I thought. She stood there, her mouth hang open.
˝Make yourselves presentable.˝ I said and pulled Arthur away.˝Bloody hell, love! You didn't have to go off like that!˝ He said, reaching out and grabbing two drinks.
˝I did! Ada told me they're been all over you ever since I came to Birmingham. And I didn't quiet like that.˝ I said taking a sip of my champagne.
˝Oh! Someone is jealous!˝ He said with a smirk.
˝I am! I'm not ashamed to admit it!˝ I said, looking up at him. He was just smiling.
˝What?˝˝I adore you... You know that, right?˝ He said, taking hold of my waist. I hummed and placed my free hand on his chest.
˝I adore you too, my love...˝ I said to him. We shared a kiss and clicked our glasses. He rested his forehead to mine and smiled. Soon music started playing. Arthur pulled my by my hand towards all the others and we danced the night away.
Coming back to my house, Arthur went to my room and passed out. I laughed and took off my clothes, taking his of afterwards. I laid in bed beside him, and his arms immediately found their way around my waist. I smiled and hugged him back. I kissed the top of his head and he nuzzled closer to me. I went to sleep wrapped tight in his arms and didn't wake up till late next morning.
