BEEP BEEP BEE-
Ash's alarm went silent after it hit the wall and bounced to the ground. Seconds later, a loud scream rang out through the air before Ash finally sat up. He glared at Pikachu before picking up his alarm and putting it in his bag. Due to previous experience, Ash got himself a rubber-coated alarm clock so it doesn't break every time he inevitably throws it.
A few minutes later, he was dressed, cleaned, and eating breakfast with Serena, Gary, and the Sequoias.
"What was that yell about earlier?" Mrs. Sequoia, Professor Sequoia's wife asked, looking at Ash curiously. She had just gotten home from work late last night after the teens and Mara went to bed, so this was the first time the teens were able to meet her.
She was a perceptive woman, which served her well as one of Nurse Joy's assistants. She had long, straight brown hair that cascaded down her back and intelligent brown eyes that could instantly read you. She was slimmer and shorter than her husband, but not by much.
"Uh..." Ash chuckled nervously. "My alarm startled me awake." Pikachu just sighed.
"So, what is on the docket today?" Professor Sequoia asked. After Ash joined them at the table.
"I'm not sure, other than getting the Pokédexes." Ash replied.
"Those won't be done until after lunch." Professor Sequoia stated. "Sorry."
"No worries." Serena replied. "We'll just explore Seattle for a bit, then."
"Any ideas?" Ash asked.
"How about that glass garden down the road?" Mara suggested.
"A glass garden?" Serena asked.
"Yeah, that's a great idea. They mix glass sculptures with plants. A real work of Terkonian art!" Professor Sequoia agreed.
"I think I'm going to stay here." Gary said. "I'd like to take a look at your research, Professor, and plan a route for my own research." Gary stated.
"That's fine with me." The Professor agreed.
After breakfast, while Mara took care of the dishes, Professor Sequoia led Gary to his personal lab and Ash and Serena left for the Glass Garden.
It was located about a mile away, and as they walked, they enjoyed watching the people and pokémon they passed.
Finally, they came up to a very unique place. There were several large metal and glass buildings surrounded by plants and large glass sculptures. They walked inside and was met by an older man behind a counter. He had short, curly light brown hair and a black eyepatch over his right eye.
"Hello, how are you two doing today?" The man asked, smiling at the teens.
"Good, thank you." Ash replied. "We heard about your place here and would like to check it out."
"Sounds great!" The man nodded. "Follow me, then. I really should t be here anyways."
"So what are your names?" The man asked as he led them down a hallway to an exhibit.
"I'm Serena."
"And I'm Ash."
"My name is Dale Chihuly." The man replied.
"Chihuly? Like Chihuly Glass and Gardens?" Ash asked.
Dale gave a proud smile. "Yep! I created all these pieces!"
"Wow! That's impressive!" Serena said.
Dale led the kids through several halls, showing them several pieces of art he had blown. Glass sculptures of all shapes, sizes, and colors adorned the walls before they walked outside into the garden.
