Aemond x Reader

Requested by Anon

December event

"Are you two happy with yourselves?" You heard from above you. The ground beneath you was cold and made your back ache. Covering your eyes as you looked up you found that Aemond was standing above you. He looked rather disapproving.

"I suppose." You muttered. Your head was thumping as you sat up and groaned. Aegon was blinking blearily beside you.

"You're both lucky no one attacked you in the night." Aemond commented as he flagged over a city guard that had been helping him find the two of you. Making your way back to the castle, you had the usual scolding, where you were blamed by the queen for Aegon's miss deeds.

The next day you woke up to Aemond and a maester standing over you. "What's going on." You croaked with a sore throat.

"You've been asleep for two days." Aemond commented. The Maester poked and prodded at you and said it would be best for you to rest. He advised that someone should keep an eye on you. Aemond quickly volunteered. While dozing lightly later on in the day you could hear Alicent and Aemond talking. You were vaguely aware of him making her promise to keep an eye on you.

"No need. I'm not that ill." You said as you sat up.

"You've caught a fever in your galavanting with Aegon. By good fortune, he only has it slightly. The Maesters worry for you. So you shall rest." Alicent insisted. She wet the cool cloth on your head and pressed it to your face. You managed to spend most of the day awake. To everyone's delight, you ate well and even listened to Helena reading for a while before your head started to spin. Aemond came back and checked in on you. According to the whispers between his mother and Sir Cole, Aemond had been rather beside himself for most of the day.

"How long ago did (Y/N) fall asleep?" Aemond asked when he went to check on you and found you asleep upright. Alicent had been speaking with someone who had insisted it was urgent and she hadn't kept an eye on you for quite a while.

"Oh. Aemond I'm not sure. They were fine all afternoon. I didn't think I would need to keep such a close eye..." She trailed off and watched as Aemond was quick to move your blankets and settle you down in a more comfortable position. He took over keeping an eye on you and sat next to your bed until you woke again.
