Request: Anonymous asked: "I had a marvellous time ruining everything." #valentine2023 Aemond Targ and fem reader. Reader is being introduced to a lord for a peace wedding between her house and another house but aemond is jealous and keeps interfering.

"Brother! Have you heard. Our Lord Brackwell is going to enter the tourney." Helena gushed. She had her arm linked with yours and the two of you had been talking with the young Lord who acted bashful as you and Helena cooed about him being brave enough to enter.

"That is all? He is not performing some useful duty?" Aemond said coldly as he stood next to Helena and looked the lord up and down.

"It is brave to enter the tourney." You insisted and smiled at the lord who bowed his head gratefully at your interjection.

"Perhaps I shall ask for your favour, My lady." He said with a sweet smile as he bowed to you. He excused himself and went to stand with his family. Aemond watched you and Helena hurry off together giggling and chatting rather eagerly as you went to sit together in one corner. There was a small party being thrown ahead of the tourney tomorrow many people had come for the day. Turning, Aemond stormed off and crashed into Daemon and Rhaenyra who had taken a moment to step away from the gathering.

"Prince Aemond..." Rhaenyra muttered as she saw fury on his face.

"I hate him!" Aemond snapped. She and Daemon looked at each other for a moment before Daemon called out after him.

"Our Lord Brackwell? The older of the younger?" Daemon asked. Aemond was uncharacteristically riled up and Rhaenyra had to silently scold Daemon knowing he was planning to make the situation worse.

"The younger. Acting as if entering Tourney's is the greatest a man can achieve." He said as he stopped and glared at the floor.

"Have you ever entered any?" Daemon asked.

"No. Why would I? They are not important. Just men who cannot fight showing off." Aemond insisted. Daemon chuckled and shrugged as he stepped closer.

"You could always enter and humiliate him." Daemon suggested. There was a drone to Daemon's voice, he would use Aemond to humiliate both Lord Brackwells if he could.

"Daemon. Alicent will not want him to take part. You recall..." Rhaenyra started to object.

"I have my old tourney armour here. It should fit you fine. There's a rather fine horse in the stables... should be easy." Daemon said with a smug smile. Aemond was clearly taking on board what Daemon was saying and Rhaenyra excused herself to fetch Alicent so that she could absolve herself of any involvement.

The morning of the tourney arrived and you went with Helena to eat breakfast on one of the balconies, watching the lords who had entered.

"Which do you think will win?" She asked.

"I am uncertain. Mother would like me to give my favour to Lord Brackwell. She thinks it will encourage his father to take the marriage proposal our house made more seriously. She said it will show I am interested in him." You muttered as you picked at a piece of fruit.

"Well! At least he is handsome and seems kind." Helena said and smiled as she reached for her drink before adding. "I am already wed so if there is someone you wish to give a token to more, we can use mine. No one will think anything of it." She grinned at you and you chuckled. The two of you were escorted to the tourney grounds a little later. You noticed as you sat near the front with Helena that Alicent looked rather concerned and that Prince Daemon was smiling with amusement as Princess Rhaenyra spoke to him in a quiet tone. She didn't look happy.

"Where is Aemond?" You asked as Aegon took his seat and immediately motioned for a drink to be brought to him.

"He is down there." Aegon said. The first few rounds had already gone by and when you looked down at the tourney grounds, leaning forward you could see a black horse with Targaryen markings on its saddle being tended to.

"He entered?" You asked.

"Yes... mother had been a pest about it all morning." Aegon muttered. Helena looked worried as she glanced at her mother who shook her head and sighed. Aemond was called forward and everyone watched as he carefully chose his competitor. Lord Brackwell. The older Lord Brackwell suddenly fell silent, having been talking with Otto who had looked quite bored.

"I am sure it shall be a good show." Otto muttered.

"Aemond will win." Aegon said as he waved over someone who took some money from him. You gave him a disapproving look and he smiled. The way he smiled made you squirm with discomfort.

"Care to make a wager on your dear Lord Brackwell?" He asked. You scoffed and turned to the tourney grounds as the first round started. Aemond looked rather fearsome in Daemon's old tourney armour and the dark trey horse. Someone commented on how it reminded them of the tourney years ago. Aemond was narrowly missed and Lord Brackwell nearly fell from his horse. You gasped and moved to the edge of your seat. You could feel Helena's hand on your arm. There were to be two more rounds. The second Lord Brackwell caught Aemond's helm on the dragon wing. In the third round, Aemond struck and won. Lord Brackwell fell badly, as did his light grey horse. You and Helena rushed to the edge of the balcony and watched as Lord Brackwell was pulled away and checked over. Aemond rode over to you both and smiled as he held his lance up.

"Lady (Y/N). It would be an honour to bare your favour." Aemond asked. You turned to look for your mother who didn't look happy but gave a short nod as if you couldn't say no. As you went to fetch your favour, sitting on a small table with Helena's. Alicent looked frustrated but you turned back and tossed the favour over his lance. He grinned as he rode away. You could hear Prince Daemon laughing.

The evening finished with a feast. Queen Alicent approached your mother and apologised for Aemond. It had been no secret that you were to give your favour to Lord Brackwell who was still recovering from his fall. You took the moment to break away but found Helena was busy with her cousins who had not been able to attend the tourney but were enthralled by the details of the day.

"I do hope Lord Brackwell is not too offended by today's events." Aemond said and smiled as you turned to him.

"You ruined everything." You snapped. His face softened before he chuckled.

"I had a marvellous time ruining everything." Aemond muttered as he leaned in. You glared up at him and shook your head.

"Your arrogance and cruelty towards Lord Brackwell are unappealing and ugly Aemond." You said firmly. Again he chuckled and tutted his tongue.

"We both know you find me more appealing than your Lord Brackwell. It is not my fault that he does not compare to me. I imagine falling for your lord shall be harder than when you fell for me. Perhaps I shall allow him to try and win your heart." Aemond smiled as he watched your face twist with anger before you calmed yourself.

"Lord Brackwell is kind and respectable and he would never be so cruel. I would never let my heart become yours. It never has been." You insisted. He laughed at you and shrugged as he turned towards his brother.

"If you say so." He said smugly. It infuriated you.

"I do say so!" You insisted. He looked overly amused as he turned back to you. He stepped closer and others turned to look at the two of you some curiously and others with disapproval.

"We shall see. But I think you shall find no matter how hard you try and resist you will always be drawn to me. Not you poor Lord Brackwell. But I shall enjoy the fight you put up. It will give me more time to humiliate your poor lord." Aemond pulled away and walked off to sit with Aegon before you could respond. Helena hurried over and reminded you not to give in to Aemond's teasing with everyone around.

"He thinks I shall fall in love with him!" You said to her as she laughed and took you off to one side to calm down.

"If you would just calm down I will promise to help you avoid that. Though I hear he has Aegon and Daemon on his side." She warned as you watched Daemon went to sit with Aegon and Aemond.
