Revenge was so close for Kokichi, that he didn't even take the time to plan this murder thoroughly. He wanted Maki to feel what he felt, he wanted her gone. Maki was drove into an insane paranoia and feared Kokichi, and was afraid that he'd hurt more people she cared about. She begged and pleaded Shuichi to break up with him, but Shuichi wouldn't listen... School went on as usual, and Kokichi seemed to be the most innocent person alive. Maki couldn't help but feel uneasy, and tried to avoid the boy at all costs. Finally, lunch arrived, and Kokichi approached the assassin. "You've been avoiding me alllllll day, did I do something wrong?" What? What was this? The day before he was trying to shoot her, but he was acting like nothing happened. Maki just tried to speak walk away, Kokichi just standing there. He smiled to himself, Maki's fear filled him with pride. Everything was worth it, all those lives he had taken, all those screams and pleads to let them live, it was all worth it. Shuichi walked up to Kokichi, taking the liar by surprise. "Hey Kokichi, what's going on?" "Maki was acting strange when I tried to talk to her, and just left..." Kokichi was trying to play it off, and Shuichi immediately felt the need to talk to Maki. "Don't worry, I'm sure it's nothing!" and with that, the detective left. Shuichi didn't understand why Maki was so cautious around Kokichi, but he was going to find out. He found his friend, standing in the hall. "Maki I need to talk to you-" "Shuichi! I've been meaning to talk to you! You need to break up with Kokichi!" Shuichi was shocked at Maki's last phrase. Break up? But he loved Kokichi, and Kokichi loved him, or so he thought. "I know you don't want to, but he's a complete psychopath! He's targeting me!" Maki was pleading Shuichi to break up with Kokichi, but Shuichi refused to. "I know you have your suspicions, but Kokichi is harmless! He couldn't kill me fly, let alone a human being!" Shuichi no longer wanting to talk to Maki, left the girl alone. School ended, almost everyone went home. Kokichi managed to cover Maki's mouth with one and and force her to a forest near the school. "It's time to finish what I've started!" Kokichi gave a sickening grin that filled Maki with fear, but she wasn't going to just lay down and die. She kicked Kokichi and ran deeper into the forest, but there were so many leaves and twigs on the ground, her escape was far from silent. Then, out of no where, Maki felt a knife stab her arm. She screamed in pain, but she was still alive. As long as Maki was alive, she wouldn't let Kokichi kill any more people. She could feel Kaito's spirit was with her, in her heart and giving her strength. She tried her best to outrun the liar, but he was incredibly fast. She managed to just dodge Kokichi's knife multiple times, Kokichi fueled with rage. "WHY WON'T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY?!" "I'm going to tell the police that your the one behind the murder cases!" Maki failed to dodge Kokichi's knife this time, but it was a minor stab wound. "I have Shuichi to hide behind, they'll never believe you as long as he thinks I'm innocent!" Kokichi was just desperately trying to kill Maki, he was so close, he couldn't turn back now. "Some crappy boyfriend you are! Using Shuichi as a shield from the law!" Maki then stopped dead in her tracks, Kokichi managed to slit her neck, causing much blood to poor out. "He was nothing more than a tool to me, it was never about love," Kokichi smiled to himself when seeing Maki was officially dead. That smile quickly faded, as Shuichi emerged from behind a nearby tree. "Kokichi...?" were the only words he could manage to get out. He had heard Kokichi and Maki's screaming and yelling, and quickly came to the scene. Unfortunately, he was too late and his friend was dead because of him, because he refused to believe his boyfriend could ever kill anyone. What hurt the most, was hearing Kokichi say he was only a tool to him, and nothing more. Shuichi fell to his knees, a sobbing mess. Kokichi used that as a chance to stab Shuichi in the back, after all he couldn't have Shuichi telling anyone about his encounter with Maki. Shuichi, wide eyed and in pain, accepted this fate, because it's what he felt he deserved. "You know, you really were interesting detective..." Kokichi was frowning. "Why...?" were Shuichi's last words, he at least wanted an answer as to why Kokichi did all this, but the last thing he heard was Kokichi's voice saying, "I guess I'm just two faced."
