"Hey Freckles? Can we talk for a second?" Hitoshi asked, catching Izuku by the wrist before he could leave the locker room. It was early Saturday morning, a week since Hitoshi last talked with Yaoyorozu and Jirou about Denki's secret relationship with Katsuki, and the hero course had just finished a pretty intense training session led by Aizawa and Vlad.

Izuku stopped in his tracks, a curious smile painted on his face. "Hitoshi," he said softly. "Yeah, what do you need?"

Hitoshi glanced around the locker room. The other guys were drying off from their post-workout showers and starting to get dressed. Izuku had always preferred to shower back at the dorms after training since he felt uncomfortable being exposed like that in front of all the other students. Hitoshi didn't care much; he just needed to talk to the boy.

When Hitoshi didn't answer, Izuku tilted his head a bit, confused. "Is it... confidential? Do you want to walk and talk on our way back to the dorms?"

Hitoshi bit his lip. It was probably safer to talk to Izuku in private, but there was a large part of him that wanted to stay where everyone could hear. He wanted Katsuki to hear, wanted to see him explode with jealousy. But with that guilty pleasure also came the actual destruction, and Hitoshi was much too lazy to deal with the aftermath. And anyways, Izuku was sure to blurt it all to Katsuki anyways. Any secret of Izuku's was a secret of Katsuki's, and vice versa.

"Yeah," Hitoshi finally answered. "That sounds nice."

He followed Izuku outside, trying to get his heartbeat under control. Hitoshi was ballsy. He wasn't afraid of Izuku's guard dog, Bakugou Katsuki. He had actually looked forward to pissing him off. But no amount of excitement and planning could squash his anxiety completely.

Izuku could easily reject him, right here, right now. He could smile sadly and say he only had eyes for Katsuki. Or that he just didn't like Hitoshi. There were so many things that could go wrong.

Hitoshi noticed he still hadn't let go of Izuku's wrist. As if it were burning him, Hitoshi retracted his wrist. He shoved his hands in his pockets to hide their trembling.

"So?" Izuku said. "You wanted to tell me something?"

Here goes nothing, Hitoshi thought. He swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded numbly. "First... You're not dating Blasty, are you?"

Izuku blushed. He had a feeling he knew where this conversation was going, and Hitoshi's question only confirmed it. Still, he played dumb. It was fun, honestly. He loved seeing people flustered before him, even though he was the most easily flustered person on the face of the planet. "Me and Kacchan? Dating?" Izuku asked. "No, we're not. Why do you ask? Do you like him?"

Hitoshi snickered. He didn't want to admit his true intentions just yet, but it was extremely tempting. He bit his lip and shook his head, settling for a devious grin. "No," he answered. "I just wanted to make sure you're officially available."

Izuku blushed. "Available?"

"Yup." Hitoshi kicked a pebble by his foot. "So, you don't like him?"

"Of course I like him." Izuku said it without even hesitating.

Hitoshi raised an eyebrow. "Romantically?"

Izuku gulped. He spoke too quickly, didn't he? Hitoshi was one of those people that he found himself rambling on and on to. Without even trying, Hitoshi knew almost as much as Katsuki knew about Izuku. The freckled boy squeezed his eyes shut. "I'm sorry," he muttered. "It's just, he's..."
