'Where am I?'
I hear voices all around me whispering but I can't open my eyes or mouth.
It's hard to move but I know I'm laying down on something.
"Cassidy? Can you hear me?" I heard a unfamiliar voice say. "Mmm" i managed to mumble but still couldn't open my mouth or eyes. I felt so weak and my head slightly hurt.
"Okay stay still for a bit longer love" the voice said as I fell back to sleep.
30 minutes later..
I opened my eyes to a very bright light above my head, shinning towards the door. On my right side,my parents sat quiet and looking worried. And on my left side was Aaron's grandfather,Milo and Sabrina.
The twins I used to be friends with in middle school until they moved and I heard they always tried finding ways to make my life miserable for some reason. They left before I could find out why exactly.
"Hey Cas,how are you? It's been a long time" Sabrina said with a smile that told me she was up to something. "Yeah.." I said. Feeling dizzy and angry again.
"I don't have time for this. All you two do is play games with people's lives so what do you want now" I said annoyed.
They both looked at Aaron's grandfather and all 3 of them smiled in unison. "We have a proposition for you and your family. That is if you're willing to hear our thoughts on it all of course" Aaron's grandfather said.
I felt like rolling my eyes as Milo tried to take my hand but I pulled it back just in time before he could.
I looked at my parents to find out how they felt about it and they nodded. Still staying silent, which was very un usual.
"What kind of proposition?" I asked them. Sitting up in my bed and trying my best not to let them get to me and trying not to get another headache.
Aaron's grandfather smiled and took out some binders from his oversized bag,and I started to get second thoughts on hearing anything they had to say.
"So I'm sure you've heard I have been doing some research and I have discovered my family owns the land your house was built upon. I have been trying to find ways to make it even for everyone and to make the situation better for your family" he said, handing one of the binders to my dad.
"Okay..so..what part of this would be fair for us? You want our children to help you with your farm,we still loose our house but you want us to live with you..how is that fair for our family at all?" My dad asked, pushing his glasses closer to his eyes and staring at the papers as if they were on fire.
"Well you're right. I didn't think about that. Alright how about this, you keep your house and your children come to help me for the summer. Fully payed and I will pay for the transportation back and forth"
My parents looked at eachother and I thought about it silently. It didn't seem like such a bad idea, but I did want to know why Milo and Sabrina were here.
And I also wanted to know why Aaron wasn't in here with us and if he knew about this.
"Alright. We'll talk to our family and see how everyone feels about it. Then we will get back to you in the morning after everyone gets home" my dad said.
"Good timing. Thank you all for listening and enjoy your day" Aaron's grandfather said.
As Milo,Sabrina and Milo walked out,I noticed Milo drop a envelope on purpose as Sabrina and Aaron's grandfather walked out of the door.
He looked back at me and smiled as he waved then walked out. I got out of my bed and walked over to the envelope.
There I saw images of the same person in all black from the Café.
And in big red letters read 'Cassidy Marie Hathaway'.. which is my name..
