"Amennnnn." The choir hummed in unison with the congregation.
The candle light from the waxed long white figures illuminated the entire church. Giving it a soft glowing light that Loui appreciated dearly. Light was no longer his friend after his transformation. Which was a kindness after the tragic death of his brother at sunset.
The very thought of his sibling made him grimace, but this soft luminance was a comfort to his sorrow. A full circle as the humans say. Huh, listen to him as if he was not human less than a few weeks ago.
People shuffling past him in the pews drew him out of his thoughts. Afraid to be near the priest or anywhere near the blessed alter him and his gaudy partner stood to the back pew in the corner.
Lestat watched the people in amusement. Praising and worshipping God. He couldn't wait to drain them after this union. The innocence always taste a little sweeter. Just look at this Loui.
Clinging onto his humanity made him sweeter than ever.
Lestat turned his body to Loui. His thoughts for remorse were so loud. Nonsense.
"Loui!" Lestat screamed inside his mind causing Loui to jerk up squinting at him. As much as they spoke the telepathy between them still was new. Especially when he wanted solace in his mind, but Lestat like the rest of him, wanted all of Loui. No more solace, no more humanity.
"Don't be such a martyr just because our humanity is gone doesn't mean we can't have humans." Lestat giggled into Loui's neck making Loui smirk with genuine enjoyment while pushing him off.
"Not here."
"When, I am tired of being denied you. Let's leave this place at once." Lestat rose abruptly drawing the eyes of the church goers.
Loui sighed feeling irritated but he knew Lestat lived for these conniptions and would relish in it if they got into an argument here. Would probably drain everyone in here for the fun of it after words.
Truly Loui was grateful Lestat came with him and held his temperament until now, and even then this was microscopic to what it could really be.
Grabbing the pew in front of him Loui looked up at the alter as the few last church goers received the body and blood of Christ. Ironic he thought to himself. He couldn't receive the blood of Christ anymore ; just man.
"Okay we'll leave."
Lestat quickly turned his head upon his lover. Surprised at his willingness to comply. He knew he was being quick headed right now, but to be an a place specifically that judged them for being something they were, something he loved being and now something that the love of his life is. Fuck em.
Adjusting the hat back upon his head Lestat tipped toward his mate. "Say your peace. I will be waiting for you in the back."
Loui just nodded in return looking forward. Even that brief action of ignoring Lestat, he could his feel his lover's temper rise again.
As Lestat strutted towards the back of the church he knew eyes were on him they always were. Out of desire , jealousy, or disgust but something felt different this night. Something he couldn't quite pin point which was damn perplexing.
Lestat knew all. He's only been alive 184 years of course he knew all. All but his Loui, which he planned to get to know for the rest of their eternity.
The thought of his lover made him famished. Perhaps time for a quick snack. Just something to tye him over while Loui sulks over the loss of his humanity.
Exiting the church's brass doors Lestat breathed in the nights air. He could hear the music and it's naughtiness in the distance. Just the thought of him and Loui going back where they belong fueled his appetite.
Hmmm which one, which one? All these peasants attending church and none of them were the youth. He could hear their aching muscles, high pressure in their blood streams and slow hearts.
He need something young, something hot man pumping with adolescent stupidity. They tasted the best. What he really needed was his Loui, but young humans will have to do. However there was not a single one in sight.
Lestat grunted out of impatience leaping from the bottom of the marble steps to the top ready to rip the door off the hinges until it opened before he had the chance to pull it.
And there she was. They stood in silence while the weight of the door closed it behind her.
With grey eyes looking at him the human reached out around her. Trying to locate the banister. Lestat purposely stepping in her way to offer his assistance.
"Excuse moi, may I offer some assistance." His mischievous voice teased out.
"We'll aren't you an angel." The young woman replied with an assured smile.
"Oh mon amie you have no idea." They both chuckled as he assisted her down the steps.
With each heel down on the pavement below. Lestat could feel the young woman's heart beat bounce right into his eardrum. Not fast and accelerated how young women's rates would typically be around him. Her's was proud, tempered, and oh boy was it strong. Delicious.
Reaching the bottom of the steps the young woman unhooked her self from Lestat's left elbow and walked in front of him.
"I know my way from here. Thank you." She nodded in gratitude, a slight smile breaking into the edge of her lips.
"Oh mon amie there is another way you will be thanking me". Before he could grab her, his actions were halted with the slightest heat to his chest.
The young woman moved closer to him. So close from the outside view it looked as though they were embraced.
"I won't be necessary for you, for you are truly an angel. My blood won't suffice, fill or sustain you."
