Professor McGonagall had all of us first years line up in front of the four long house tables and then said that Professor Dumbledore had something he wanted to say. Professor Dumbledore was a very old man with half-moon spectacles, long grey hair with a grey beard and he wore awesome and unique fancy robes unlike the other professors in the school. His blue eyes twinkled with age, kindness, and wisdom as he looked at all of the first years before he looked over the rest of the students.

Professor Dumbledore stood to his feet and smiled behind his long grey beard. "I have a few start of term notices I wish to announce. The first years please note that the dark forest is strictly forbidden to all students." For some reason, he looked at me more than the other students with his words before he looked at the students already seated and looked at the two ginger twins I saw on the platform in London. "Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch has asked me to remind you that the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death. Thank you." With that said he sat back down in his chair and Professor McGonagall cleared her throat and unrolled her parchment.

"When I call your name, you will come forth, I shall place the sorting hat on your head and you will be sorted into your houses." She said and started to call names from the list in no real order. "Hermione Granger." She was put into Gryffindor. "Draco Malfoy." He was put into Slytherin before the hat even touched his greasy head and Ron went on about how there wasn't a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin. "Susan Bones." I tuned out of everything around me and just waited for my name to be called and of course, I ended up being last. Ron and Harry both got into Gryffindor. "Gemini Black."

I smiled widely and skipped to the stool and put the hat onto my head. "Ah, another Black." The hat said in my head and I nodded my head. "Very proud and brave just like your father and just as mischievous as well. Courageous and kind like your mother and very smart too. You'd do well in Slytherin like your family before you; very cunning and resourceful." I'd rather not be there. "I see so not in Slytherin. Maybe Ravenclaw; very intelligent but I think you may be too lazy. Yes too lazy for there just like you lack the patience for Hufflepuff but you have the loyalty. Yes very loyal and brave. You have qualities of all the houses but I can only put you in one house so what house..." I want to be in the house of my parents. I want to be a Gryffindor. "I know where to put you. GRYFFINDOR."

Like the Gryffindor house did with Harry they cheered that they had me in the house and I pumped my fist in the air as I took the sorting hat off of my head and put it onto the stool again and ran to the table and sat next to Hermione and across from Harry who was beside Ron. Dumbledore started the feast and food magically appeared on all of the tables and everyone dug in but no one faster than me and Ron.

Somehow the table got talking about blood status and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at it. "I'm half and half." A rather small boy said but he was still larger than me and spoke with a rather Scottish accent much like Uncle but thicker than Uncles. "Me dad's a Muggle and mam's a witch. Bit of a nasty shock for him when he found out." I couldn't help but laugh when he said that and many others did as well and he looked at me. "What about you?"

"My mum was a half-blood and my dad a pureblood," I answered with a shrug of my shoulders as I bit into a chicken leg. "At least that's what my Uncle told me. I don't remember either of them, they both died during the war" I looked down at my plate with my words suddenly full and pushed it away. "I don't know much about my dad though; no one will tell me very much about him other than that he...but oh well."
