Chapter 5 *****Edited*****

The first day of Transfiguration was rather boring and was mostly bookwork but I still made sure to pay attention even though I already read the entire book. After Transfiguration was Defense Against the Dark Arts and I was really looking forward to that class but I was sadly disappointed because the Professor Quirrell was a stuttering fool that was honestly terrified of his own shadow. Seriously, I learned more from the book than I did from the blubbering and stuttering fool that was our professor.

After supper, I made my way to the dungeon for my detention with Professor Snape. When I entered his room I found him sitting at his desk and when he looked up at him he glared at me and I just smiled at him. "Hello Professor, I'm here for my detention." He continued to glare at me.

"You'll clean and organize the cupboards without magic." Professor said looking over at the dysfunctional cupboards to my left and I nodded my head.

"How would you like them done sir?" I asked politely and he looked slightly shocked but hid it well. "Would you like it alphabetically or by use?"

"Both." He answered and I nodded my head and moved to the cupboard and got to work.

Overall detention with Professor Snape wasn't as bad as the Weasley twins led me to believe it would be. It took a few hours for me to fully organize the supplies in the cupboards but in doing so I learned a lot about the different kinds of ingredients that there were to make potions and I was filled more questions I wanted to ask the potions professor.

"I'm finished Professor." I said when I finished the cupboard and he looked up from his papers and at me with a glare. "Would you like to look?" Without a word he stood from his desk and came to check my work.

"Very well, you may go." I smiled up at him and he moved back to his desk but I didn't leave and he looked up at me in annoyance. "What is it, Miss Black?"

"I was wondering Professor if I could come to see you during breaks for extra potions lessons because we only have potions lessons once a week?" I requested causing him to raise his eyebrow at me. "It's just that I'm very interested in the subject and I would like to learn more if I could."

Professor Snape looked at me curiously and seemingly in slight shock for several minutes before he spoke. "Miss Black after your display this morning what makes you think you should receive...more training from me of all Professors?" I looked down at the floor knowing that he was right.

"I'm sorry for my behavior Professor." My apology seemed to shock him because his eyes widened for just a moment before he recovered. "It's just that, I'd like to learn how to make potions so I can help my Uncle ." Mention my Uncle made Professor Snape glare at me. Uncle told me about his past with Professor Snape and I knew to mention Uncle was a mistake and I sighed. "I just want to help the only family I have left and I read about a potion that could help him."

"So he told you about his...condition?" I shook my head and he looked at me curiously and I smirked.

"I figured it out on my own when I realized that he would go away for 'business' on the full moon." He nodded his head to my words. "When I got my Hogwarts letter he let me read some books before I went to get my school books and I found one for a potion that would make his transformation easier for him and I wanted to ask you how to make it and how difficult it was so I could help him during the summer to make it and so that he could make it on his own while I was here."

"From what I can remember from our time during school your Uncle lacks the skill to make it on his own and due to his condition he will also lack the funds to buy the materials needed to make the potion." Sadness filled my heart with Professor Snape's answer and I sighed and nodded my head. "However, if you have your mother's skills you just might be able to make it for him and if handled and stored correctly you can make enough of it to last him while you are at school." I looked up at him and smiled widely and nodded my head. "It is difficult to make though and the ingredients are costly and knowing your Uncle, he won't want you spending your money on him so he may not accept it."
