Chapter 7 *****Edited*****
Time flew by and before I knew it it was Halloween. I wrote to Uncle and told him that I had made the Quiddage team as a Chaser and how I had become a Chaser and while he wasn't happy with how I became one he was happy I made the team. I had talked to Professor McGonagall about buying myself a broom through a mail-order catalog but for some reason, she told me not to worry so for now both Harry and I have been using the school brooms to practice on and for the time being they were okay.
I was excited for Charms today because we were finally going to start performing some spells. In Transfiguration, we had already started turning things into other things and Hermione and I were at the top of the class and I was even better than her but I also practiced on my own because I had a goal to obtain that she didn't. I was always the first in the class to transfigure whatever we were doing and I always did it perfectly earning points for Gryffindor and Hermione was right behind me earning points as well.
Right now Professor Flitwick was standing on his books telling us about the levitation charm Wingardium Leviosa. Hermione was partnered with Ron, Harry was partnered with Seamus who had a very bad habit of making things blow up and I was alone because of odd numbers and was sitting between Ron and Harry. After Professor Flitwick told us all what to do every one started and Ron was wildly swishing his wand around the wrong way and I had already made my feather float around.
"Very good Miss Black, five points for Gryffindor." Professor Flitwick said when he saw my feather floating and I blush when Ron glared at me and I let it drop.
Ron went back to his wild swishing and saying the charm wrong and I gently grabbed his wrist. "Ron stop you're going to take someone's eye out." I said in a joking manner hoping he wouldn't get angry with me but he scowled at me.
"Besides, you're saying it wrong." Hermione added. It's Leviosa, not Leviosar."
Ron now scowled at Hermione. "You do it then if you're so clever." He waved at the feather in front of her. "Go on."
Hermione straightened in her seat and perfectly did the spell and her feather floated in the air catching Professor Flitwick's attention. "Oh, well done. See here, everyone. Miss Granger's also done it. Splendid." He cheered. "Well done dear." Hermione let the feather fall back to the desk as Ron scowled more and I sighed.
I heard Seamus, down the way saying the spell over and over and when I hear a boom I jumped and let out a frightened squeal and gripped onto Harry beside me. I blushed when he chuckled and slowly let him go saying sorry and he said that they would need another feather. For the rest of the lesson I tried to help Ron with the charm but every time I did he would just glare at me and ignore me and by the end of the lesson was nearly in tears. I thought he was my friend.
I walked out of the lesson besides Hermione and behind Ron, Harry, Neville, and Seamus. Both Hermione and I were silent as we followed behind them as they talked because both of us were rather down about how Ron treated us during Charms. He was so rude when we thought he was our friend. I knew that Hermione had a little crush on Ron even if she wouldn't even admit it to herself and how he treated her today really hurt her.
"It's Leviosa, not Leviosar." I heard Ron mocking Hermione and she tensed beside me and I glared at him. "Stop, you're going to take someone's eye out." Now he was mocking me? "Their nightmare's honestly. No wonder they haven't got any friends."
I saw the tears in Hermione's eyes as she pushed past the group of four bumping into Ron's shoulder as she did so. "I think she heard you." Harry said sounding guilty.
