Nick was teaching Charlie to fight in the dragon pit. The hole in the broken dome above let the sun stream down into the centre of the hall where the two of them sparred, several dragons watched nonchalantly.

They both wore full armour and the blunt practice swords were heavier than the real thing, it was a hot day and they were both sweating.

"I'm too small and weak to be a night." Charlie sighed.

"Speed is more important than strength and your really fast." Nick replied. Swinging his sword which Charlie dodged, proving his point.

"You still need strength to cut through armour." Charlie poked nicks chest plate with the point of his wooden sword.

"Valerian steel cuts through armour like cloth." Nick gestured to blackfire which lay on a table to one side.

"Its too big for me to wield." Charlie said. Nick had tried training Charlie with it before.

"What about dark sister?" Nick asked. "It was made for a woman's hand, a light quick blade. It would make you deadly."

"That's Ben's sword."

"I would gladly take it from him."

Charlie was silent for a moment, his face becoming sombre. "Every second of every day I wonder if I should."

"Should what?"

"Let you or Tori kill Ben. Mound harry lanister's head on a spike, along with anyone I suspect of aiding his assassination attempt." Charlie let his innermost fears and stresses spill out. "There are traitors and spies infecting every part of the red keep. Tao has enemy lists but I have forbidden him to act. I have avoided conflict at all costs, dose that make me a bad king? Should I use violence to secure my rein?" Charlie asked.

"You are king, whatever you decide to do is right. I am not a politician or philosopher, my only concern is keeping you safe."

"But you must have an opinion." Charlie pressed him.

Nick stepped forward to meet him and took Charlies hand tenderly. He looked down into his kings eyes.

"You are the kindest most thoughtful, caring and amazing person in the whole world." They had a deep emotional bond and now nick was tapping into that. "You hesitate to use violence, that makes you one of the greatest kings in history."

Suddenly the wooden swords hit the sand and they were kissing. Nelly's howl was drowned out by skyfurys roar. The ancient and powerful dragon blasted a column of fire above the two of them.

later Charlie would realise that in that moment he had claimed his dragon.
