25. Lights

Stepping out of the shower, Celine is surprised to find all seven members of Bangtan waiting for her in her living room. Clothed in just a towel, she feels her cheeks heat up as she awkwardly gazes at them. Not that they haven't all seen everything she has to offer but she hasn't been in front of all of them at once. Jimin senses her hesitation and steps forward. "You should probably go get dressed. I'm sorry. We have to have a serious conversation." Nodding, Celine comes back to her senses and heads into her bedroom to get changed.

What's this about? Are they going to tell her they can't see her any more? What would she do then? She doesn't think her heart would be able to take it but she does understand why they wouldn't want to all date the same girl. Or maybe it was like Jungkook's notion to keep her protected. They had already vanquished the shadow creatures so there was no more threat. She couldn't think of another reason that they all looked so serious about wanting to talk. Her and Lexie were both safe now.

Jin steps forward and takes her hand, leading her over to the couch. "I'm so sorry about what I said to you that night. I need you to understand that that wasn't really me but we need to talk about your friend. You need to know that I still care about you in every way." Celine gaped at him, open mouthed. It had only been a few nights and he had chosen her friend over her as soon as they met. Not that Celine had any room to be jealous. She was with 6 others who happened to be his brothers but it still stung a little.

She really didn't trust herself to choke out the words but she needed him to know that she would support him no matter what. "Jin, you deserve someone who will put you first, before anyone else. You all do. I just care about all of you so much that that can't be me. You could be happy with Lexie. If that's what you need to talk to me about, it's okay Jin. I'm happy for both of you. She's like a sister to me. How could I ever be upset that you wanted to be together?"

Jin grimaced. "That's going to make what I'm about to say much harder."

Celine took both of his hands in hers and looked him in the eyes, an orange sunset burning brightly behind them but there was nothing but love and maybe a hint of sadness in them. "Whatever you have to tell me, it's okay. I'm not going anywhere."

"Are you sure? Because it's about Lexie and it's not good." Celine desperately searched his eyes for answers, hoping that Lexie was okay and something hadn't happened to her after all she went through.

As if Jin could anticipate her thoughts, he rolled his eyes. "She's fine. But you need to stay away from her. I don't know everything about it yet but she affected me. I shouldn't have been as drawn to her as I was, being what I am. We can all resist most other supernatural creatures but we're not perfect. The fact that we don't know who or what she is makes her dangerous, especially for you."

Hands still holding Jin's, Celine looks down at her feet, trying to make sense of the situation. "Supernatural creature? There's no way. That can't be right. She's definitely human. We've been friends since the third grade and she even followed me here overseas because she didn't want to be separated for that long. I don't understand. She's been my best friend for so long. Why would I just now be in danger? She could have hurt me any time. None of that makes sense Jin."

"I don't know everything yet. I don't even know if she's dangerous. It's just a gut feeling I have. Until we figure it out, will you let one of us stay with you? Or you can stay with one of us."

Taking her hand out of his, Celine scoffs, "I hardly think there's any need for that. If Lexie wanted to hurt me she would have already done it."

"Unless you weren't her main target," Namjoon interjects. "But if she used you to get to us then she wouldn't hesitate to hurt you when you're no longer of use." Celine starts to tear up at his harsh words. Namjoon rushes over, feeling like an idiot for being insensitive. That was her only friend and he just told her that she was likely using her.
