"Look!" Kitty's eyes adjusted to the piece of paper shoved in her face. She blinked blankly reading over the words before looking back to the boy.

"The family fair?" She took the paper and lowered it to her lap. The boy smiled at her with hope in his eyes.

"I was thinking we could go." She raised an eyebrow. "All of us." He smiled looking past her at the man who was smoking outside the door. "Please Kitty." He begged, pulling at her heart.

Kitty bit her lip and looked at the flyer again. A smiling family stared back at her from the page.  She frowned at the boy then down to the page. "It's tomorrow?" The boy nodded with hope.

He wanted to do something other than stay in the shack with the feuding adults, and she understood that. "It would be nice to go out for a bit." His smile grew at her words. "If Cora wants to, we can." She handed the page back with a weak smile. He was giddy.

"Really?" Law squealed. She nodded receiving a hug in return. "Thank you Kitty."

"It'll be fun." She ruffled his hat and sent him to the man. She watched as he shoved the paper into the mans hands. The boy waited for a response as the man glanced at her through the window. She gave a slight nod to the man with a weak smile. "It'll be fun." She repeated to herself, unsure of the actual outcome of the day.

"You know," The man started as he pulled her closer. "This has been the best day ever."

Kitty giggled, resting her head back on the man behind her. The sea breeze cooled her face from the setting sun and water kissed her bare feet. "You say that everyday."

"The days just keep getting better and better with you." He kissed the top of her head and buried his face in her hair. "I love you so much, Kitty." His voice was low and genuine. Her heart fluttered at his words.

"I-" Before she had the chance to finish her words, a childish scream erupted from down the shoreline. The duo watched as a family ran around, laughing in the sand and shallow water. She smiled and watched as the children and parents laughed and played in the setting sun.

"Is it wrong that I get jealous of things like that?" Rosinante mumbled under his breath, slighting back to his messy childhood. She looked back to him and slid his hand into hers. "It's wrong."

"It's understandable." She planted a small kiss on his lips. "I want kids." He raised an eyebrow at her. "Ya know, in the future." He gave a slight chuckle and held her close again. "I want to be able to be the mother I didn't have." Her eyes fell back to the family, just as the mother picked up the smaller of the two children and held them close.

"You'd be a great mom." He mumbled into her hair. "Let's get married and have a family." The words took a moment for her to process.

"What?" She pulled away slightly processing what he had just said.

"Us, Katerina. You and me, married and a family." The words caused a picture to form in his mind of  his girlfriend holding a child in a house they called their own. He smiled at the image. "What do you say?" She looked at him over her shoulder.

"Duh!" She flipped over and tackled him into the sand with her arms around his neck. "Of course Rosinante." He laughed and pulled her into a deep kiss. Her body fit perfectly with his like a puzzle piece.

Kitty stood awkwardly among the parents. They chatted and laughed with each other as the children played various games. She shifted awkwardly and pulled her coat closer to his body.  At least Law is having fun. Her eyes drifted around the children until she found the one that she accompanied. He had a small smile on his face as he built a snowman with another boy about the same age.

"I got you this." A voice startled her causing her to turn around. Rosinante stood behind her holding a hot chocolate. She carefully took it and turned back to the children.

"Thanks." She blew on the drink before taking a sip, it was warmer than she first imagined. "Please be carefu-" but it was too late he had already taken a first drink and spit the hot liquid on the ground. She sighed and faced him.

"It's hot." He frowned at her in embarrassment. "Very hot." She shook her head and took another small sip. She felt awkward among the families, knowing that those she came with in no way claimed to be a family. "What's wrong?" The man glanced down at her.

"It's weird." She shifted again crossing her arms. "Ya know."

"I don't mind it." He smirked. "This is like the one bit of normalcy I've experienced in a long time."

"How is this normal?" Snow began to gently fall on the crowd.

"Cora-san!" Law called snagging the duo's attention. "Kitty!" They looked over to him. He had a large smile plastered on his face as he waived them over.

Kitty welcomed the change of scenery as she made her way to the boy. "What's up?" She had a smile on her lips as she knelt down the the boys height.

"Can you help?" He motioned to a large snowball and a half built snowman.

"I think that's doable." The man smiled and picked up the ball and placed it carefully on the other two. "Perfect." Within a short moment the three balls toppled over into a heap on the ground. "Shit." The girl laughed into her scarf and looked down to the boy who snickered to himself.

"Well," She gave a smile to the man. "You tried." He gave her a weak smile back.
