Roy Pov:

Roy: 4,998. . . 4,999. . . 5,000!

Right now I was doing handstand push-ups in Anna's garden. Anna was sitting on a bench and it looked like she was talking to those spirits that she told me about. It's been a half a week since I killed Spencer in the life or death arena and during that time I visited Will and Alex who were both healing up nicely. The doctors said they would be out of the hospital by the end of the week. I finished up training and walked over to Anna and sat down next to her.

Roy: Communing with the spirits again, huh?

Anna: Mhm.*Smiles* The spirits also seem to enjoy your company as well.

As Anna said that, I could feel small presence's around me but I couldn't see them myself.

Anna: I'm glad you're the one who's protecting me, Roy. I'm not sure if I could trust anyone else.

Roy: Why did you trust me anyways? I was a total stranger when we first met.

Anna: Well it was mostly due to the spirits. Spirits are very kindred beings. They have the ability  to see the true emotions and thoughts of others. That's why people like me, who are very close with spirits, are used to tell whether someone is telling a lie or if they're a good person. When we first met, the spirits immediately told me that I could trust you.

Roy: That sure is a useful ability. To be able to tell if someone is truly faithful. . .

I shook my head at the thought. There's no point in regretting what has already come to pass. I was blinded by the friendship I thought I had with my comrades. Although they betrayed me, the fault lies on both of us. Just gotta be more careful with who I trust this time around.

Anna: Don't even think about it, you two!

Roy: What's going on?

Anna: Oh, nothing much. *Chuckles* The wind and water spirits were planning to pull a prank on you.

Roy: I don't know where you guys are, but you can go ahead and try.*Smirks* Just know that I will find a way to get back at you!

I felt the presence's around me leave when I said that. Guess I scared them off. Anna then stood up and stretched as she walked back towards the mansion.

Anna: Wash up and get dressed, Roy. School is about to start soon.

I nodded and went to follow Anna into the mansion to shut the door behind us. I took a shower in my room, got dressed in the uniform Anna's parents bought for me and went down to eat breakfast. After we finished eating, Anna and I got into the limo that was parked at the front entrance. The limo started up and it drove us to the school. We got to the school gates and I opened the door to get out while going to the other side to open the door for Anna. As usual, I would walk beside her while everyone else would whisper to each other like they have been for the past half a week I've been doing this.

Roy: You'd think that they would get used to this after giving them some time. . .

Anna: Well jealousy is pretty infectious, Roy.

Roy: *Chuckles* You're right about that.

Her parents really did pull all the strings, though. They had my whole schedule changed so that I can be with her in every class and even during lunch. They said they would put it back to normal once their family problems are sorted out. We went through the day normally while also getting the occasional stares filled with jealousy and anger. It was then that we got to her last class.

Eleanor: Welcome back to Magic Theory class, everyone.

Eleanor Windfall. She's a half-elf who was a former student of the school and is considered a prodigy amongst the teachers. She's also related to the principal to boot.

Roy: *Thoughts* She's also really fucking hot! The gothic witch esthetic is on point!

Eleanor: Todays discussion is going to be on the topic of mana. As you all know, mana is essentially energy produced from nature that has existed for as long as some theorize to be since the beginning of the universe and exists within all of nature. The first of the elements to be born were darkness and light as the others were created soon after. We contain mana within our body through the "Mana Sea" which is located above your belly button. It's a metaphysical container for mana that you're born with if you have even the smallest aptitude for magic.

Eleanor then looked up at me as I looked back at her with a smirk and a small blush appeared on her face as she kept the same neutral expression.

Eleanor: Roy, would you care to explain how Chi works and how it relates to mana?

Roy: Sure. *Clears throat* Chi is the natural life force energy that exist with an all living and even nonliving things. From strengthening the mind and body to increasing one's longevity, there are limitless possibilities to what chi can do which is only restricted by the user's imagination.

Male Student: *Scoffs* If Chi is so amazing, why don't you show us what it can do?

A male student and a group of his friends at the front of the class laughed at me. I grabbed my eraser and imbued Chi into it.

Roy: Alright. Your head might sting a bit, but you'll be fine~

I flicked the eraser which sped towards the back of his head and made him face plant onto his desk. Everyone was shocked.

Roy: That's one of the capabilities of Chi. By simply imbuing Chi into an object, you can increase its strength and durability multiple times what you would normally be able to. I know of sword masters that could use a stick and cut down thousands of soldiers in one strike.

Everybody started talking amongst themselves, but we're quickly shut down by Eleanor when she slammed her book on her podium.

Eleanor: Alright, everyone, that's enough. We'll be moving onto the next topic-

As Eleanor said that, the sound of glass shattering could be heard, as everyone looked towards the nail broken windows. There stood a group of six men in black hoods which obscured their faces as they stood there menacingly.

???: Okay, kiddos, we'll make this easy for everyone. *Takes out sword*

I saw Eleanor summon huge balls of fire and rock spikes that look similar to stalactites in caves.
The book she used to slam on the podium to get everyone's attention was now floating in her hand with a purple glow around it. The book itself was thick and was a dark violet color with intricate gold inlay on the front and back of it. Eleanor looked at the man with an equally menacing glare.

Eleanor: You'd have to be brain dead to think that I would just handover one of my students. Give yourselves up now or things will get ugly.

???: *Smirks* I think you might want to reevaluate the situation you're in, Eleanor Windfall.

A scream was heard throughout the classroom as everyone's attention was shifted towards the right side of the class. The male student who I hit with the eraser was holding a knife to the throat of one of the female students.

Male Student: It was so annoying having to play around with these kids all day.

???: Just make sure you keep your mask on, Rabbit. Don't need anyone knowing who we are.

Rabbit: Yeah, yeah. I know how you like to do your jobs smoothly, Tiger.

Rabbit, Tiger and the rest of their men looked at us menacingly as I could see everyone else besides Anna and Eleanor shaking from fear.

Roy: *Thoughts* This school day might actually be fun for once~
