A cold breeze swirled through the air. I shivered, carefully trying to wipe the snow away from the small shrine. I tended to stray away from the village, preferring to be alone. They were always so afraid of me, but I believed they have a good reason.
I let out a sigh has the carved steeple of the shrine snapped in my hands. I was still too strong. Everything I touched, I broke. This was why the village hated me. I could never help with anything. I was doomed to destroy, never to fix anything.
I stood up, wrapping my cloak tighter around me as I continued my walk. I took my usual path, able to still see the worn out earth beneath the snow. I could see animal tracks: birds, deer, maybe a fox. I stopped suddenly, hearing faint voices in the distance.
I stood still for a moment, trying to hear what the voices were saying. I couldn't quite make out what they were talking about, so I decided to head towards them. I stayed in the cover of the trees, keeping my eyes open for anyone I didn't recognize.
I finally spotted two dark figures. I ducked behind a tree, watching them: They were dressed in black cloaks, a pattern of red clouds embroidered on them. They were both male, one of them had a head covering, while the other had short, slicked back gray hair. The gray haired man also had a large, three bladed scythe on his back.
The gray haired man was speaking, I only able to make out some of what he was saying.
"....why am I even with you? Can't you just do this yourself?"
"If you want to go back fine with me. I never asked you to come with me anyway." Replied the hooded figure.
The silver haired man snorted, "I only came because I was bored."
"Then shut up." Said the hooded man.
They sounded like an old married couple, or brothers. I couldn't help but softly giggle to myself.
"What was that?" Asked tue silver haired man.
I held my breath. Had they heard me? I tried hide behind the tree, but it was too late. I left a chain wrap around me, violently pulling me from my hiding spot. When I finally stopped, I was standing to face the two men. I felt my blood run cold as they stared at me.
The gray haired man had pinkish purple eyes, the hooded man had green pupils and red scleras. I tried to break free, but the chains wouldn't budge.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to listen to you..." I said, trying not to cry.
"Wonder how much she's worth." Said the hooded man.
"She's a kid. I doubt anyone would want her." Said the silver haired man, "but I wouldn't mind killing her myself."
My eyes widened, the gray haired man unwrapping the chain. He moved so quickly I barely had time to react before his giant scythe was heading straight for me. I screamed, throwing out my hands trying helplessly to protect myself.
I felt the scythe hit, but it didn't cut me. I opened my eyes, the three of us staring in shock. I had caught the scythe between the blades, stopping it in its tracks. I then pulled the scythe down, my strength causing the chain to make a wave and throw the gray haired man off his feet. I then dropped the blade, trying to make a run for my life.
I had barely made it away from them when I fell flat on my face. I tried to get up, but it was like my ankles had been tied together. I looked down, seeing a mass of black strings wrapped around my ankles. Attached to the strings, was a dismembered hand.
I looked back at the men, the gray haired on his feet again. The hooded man was the cause for the black string. He flexed his arm, dragging me across the snow. Once I was at their feet, the gray haired man grabbed me by my face.
