I had only been a few weeks since I had joined the Akatsuki. Pain had taken me on as his student, teaching me how to fight and defend myself. He had also tasked me with learning medical ninjutsu, considering most of the members knew none.
I had also start to gain weight, filling out my clothes more naturally. I was no longer skeletal looking, but I was still thin. Pain had also taught me to control my strength, only using it when I was in trouble.
"You're coming along nicely." Pain said as I attempted to heal wounds on a cadaver.
He had me start off on small animals and fish, moving me over to actual bodies once I had built up my skill.
"Thanks. I actually prefer this more than fighting. I like being a medical nin." I told him, watching the deep wound slowly heal beneath my hands.
"Good. The Akatsuki could use a good medical nin." Pain said, extending his hand to me.
I stopped healing the cadaver, taking Pain's hand as I stood up.
"What are you two doing? Playing doctor again?" I heard a familiar voice call.
I turned my head to see Hidan, eyeing us coldly.
"Pain's a good a teacher. I've learned a lot from him." I said, smiling some.
Hidan rolled his eyes, "with all the strength you have, you should he learning how to kill people, not becoming a nurse."
"Not everyone wants to be a murderer, Hidan." I snapped back.
"Hey! I murder in the name of Jashin. You should try it some time." He teased.
"I believe Yui's talents is best used sparingly. Besides, she has a gift for healing." Pain said, making Hidan snort.
"Who the fuck asked you, you god damn pin cushion." Hidan spat at Pain.
"Hey! That's not very nice. Pain did nothing to you!" I yelled at Hidan, making him stare at me.
"Oh yeah? And what are you gonna do about it?" Hidan teased.
Ever since we'd been at the hideout, Hidan had been constantly pestering me. He always teased me, and was determined to do anything and everything to get on my nerves. No wonder none of the other members liked him.
"You're just a big....jerk! No wonder no one likes you!" I said, balling my hands into fists.
Pain put his hand on my shoulder, "Yui..."
I shrugged it off, Hidan chuckling, "oh no, have i made the girly mad at me?"
I felt my blood boil. I would have usually let it go, but he'd gotten on my last nerve. I stomped over to him, Hidan chuckling as he looked down at me, "hit me. I dare you." He teased.
I pulled my first back, punching him as hard as I could in his face. Hidan went flying backwards, his body dragging and skipping across the ground like a rag doll.
I stood there, waiting for Hidan to get up. I knew it'd start a fight between us. I also knew if I took Hidan on, he'd surely win.
"Come on! Get up!" I yelled at him. Hidan was a better ninja than I was. Even with my strength, I surely couldn't have really hurt him...could I?
I stepped closer towards him, "Hidan?" I asked, feeling myself get nervous. Oh no. What if had just killed him.
"Hidan?! Hidan get up, I'm sorry..." I said, running over to him. I could see his nose bleeding, it was definitely broken. He was laying in the dirt, limp and lifeless.
