Hidan and I had been walking for hours, my legs feeling as if they were about to give out on me.
"Hidan, can we take a break?" I said, sitting against a tree.
"I guess." He said, sitting beside me. He pulled out the map, the two of us looking over it.
"So that's where we need to go. So I guess we're...here." I said, pointing to a spot on the paper.
"Nah, we're here." Hidan said, pointing to a different spot.
"No. We're here. We just passed the shrine." I told him, Hidan making a face.
"Why do you always get to be the smart one?" He said, folding up the map.
I shrugged, "I don't know. You're smart, just maybe not book smart."
"Hey! What's the supposed to mean?" Hidan said, making me laugh.
"I mean, I spent most of my time reading textbooks and learning. You spend most of your time killing people." I told him, kissing his cheek, "which makes you smart when it comes to fighting."
Hidan blushed, crossing his arms, "hm, maybe, but I want to be smart like you."
I smiled, "well then you should start reading books."
"But books are boring." Hidan pouted.
I shrugged, "then don't complain that you aren't smart. I had to learn medicine, you had to learn how to kill. I don't know how to kill...on purpose. So that's something you know that I don't."
Hidan smiled, "then I'll teach you. We'll track down the bounty and I'll let you kill them."
I shrugged, "I mean, if you think I can. I'm just...scared."
"Scared? Why? You'll have me to back you up." Hidan said, putting his arm around me.
"Because, the only person I've ever fought was you. And you didn't try to kill me. But, this bounty...they'll really be trying to kill me. What if I mess up?" I said, hugging my knees.
"Yui, you worry too much. I wouldn't dare let anyone lay a hand on you. Of course, unless it was my hand." He teased.
I giggled some, Hidan kissing my forehead, "plus if anyone did ever kill you, I'd make sure they paid for it for the rest of their life."
"And that'd be what? Like five minutes." I teased.
"No. I can keep anyone alive as long as I want with my curse. I'd make them suffer." He said, his tone of voice getting serious.
"And if anyone killed you, I'd do the same," I said, gently caressing his face. Hidan gave me a soft smile, leaning in for a kiss.
Our lips touched, the world around us seemingly melting away. In this moment, it was just us and no one else mattered. Hidan was the first to pull away.
"I know I don't say this enough but, I love you." He said, making my heart skip a beat.
"I love you too." I said, kissing him again quickly.
Hidan smiled, "Well, we better get back to it."

"According to the map, this is the place." Hidan said as we walked towards a village. It was a lot bigger than my village, but not quite as big as the main shinobi villages.
"How on earth are we ever going to find our target?" I sighed, Hidan chuckling.
He pulled a small book from his cloak, "I stole Kakuzu's bingo book."
