It was an ordinary evening in modern day London. People coming home from work, having dinner with their families, or even watching the news on the telly. Some children rather play outside and enjoy each other's company until their mothers or fathers call them inside for dinner. A little boy named Jacob was busy playing football with his baby sister Emma. The two siblings were only 3 years apart, Jacob being seven years old, while Emma was five. Just by the looks of it, the siblings were really close. The evening went on with Emma kicking the ball towards the net while her brother was standing as the goalie. He cheered when his baby sister hit the goal and tossed her in the air to congratulate on her skills. But then something strange appeared out of nowhere. A large shadow peered over the children, causing the little girl to grasp onto her older brother with her small hands in fear. Jacob puts on a brave face as he quickly makes his way to the front door to keep Emma safe. The little girl was able to enter the house, but judging by the sound of the little boy's scream, he didn't make it.

The sound of the T.A.R.D.I.S. could be heard from miles away as it arrives in modern day London, England. The Doctor was the first to step out and observe the area to make sure this was the proper London, unlike the last one. He smiled in satisfaction before peeking into the blue box, "This is proper London!" he called
"Are you sure, Doctor?" asked Esther, "Cause we've been through this before and you know how that turned out!"
"Just come out and see for yourself!"
And that's what Esther did. The young companion steps out of the said box and looks around the city. A smile appeared on her face and glanced at the Doctor, "Yep, this is it" she said
"Told you so" said the Doctor, stuffing his hands in his pockets with a smile. As he rambles about their last few adventures, Esther notices someone standing in an alleyway. The stranger looked much like a woman; dressed from head to toe in a dark shade of purple. Her hair was tied up in a neat yet messy high ponytail accompanied by a black umbrella which acts as a cane. She could be mistaken for Mary Poppins if she wasn't so neat and tidy as the film from 1964. Her smile however wasn't so friendly. It reminded Esther of a Cheshire cat looking down at Alice as she wandered around through Wonderland in search of the White Rabbit. "Whatcha lookin at?" asked the Doctor, catching Esther's attention before turning back to the alleyway, seeing the mysterious woman had suddenly disappeared. 'Where'd she go?' thought Esther before her phone started to ring. After all that time she spent with the Time lord, Esther forgot she had a cellphone with her the whole time. She didn't bother seeing the caller-ID as she answered the phone in a hurry. "Esther!" a voice called on the other line, "Where have you been, love? Eric and I were so worried about you after what happened at home"
"Charlie" said Esther, surprised that one of her two best friends called, "I was traveling with-wait, how long ago were the Cybermen attacks?"
"Four days ago"
Esther glanced at the doctor who gave her a silent wink to show that time works differently in the T.A.R.D.I.S.
"Anyway, why don't we meet for lunch?" asked Charlie through the phone, "I wanna know where you've been all this time. If you happen to have a friend, bring them over. Eric and I would love to meet them"
"Uhh... sure" said Esther, "I'll meet you at the café near your flat. See ya soon"
Once the girl hung up, she glanced at the time lord, "You wouldn't mind joining me and my friends would you?" she asked, "Unless you have something better to do while we're still here?"
The Doctor glanced at his companion and shrugged, "Not really" he says, "Been a while since I've been to a café"
The girl smiled and walks ahead of the time lord who gladly followed the girl behind, hands in the pockets of his suit, and a smile on his face.

A young female around the age of 18 or 19 sat outside near a coffee shop. Her name was Charlotte Dike, or Charlie as her close friends call her, one being Esther Lovegood. Her raven pixie cut slightly grown out a bit, paired with a pair of goggles you would see on a steampunk costume. Her hands are covered with fingerless black gloves to match with leather jacket and dark skinny jeans. While the male sitting across from Charlie, his name was Eric Heart. He was tall with dark hair and slight curls in the end, broad shoulders, and a pair of round spectacles to frame his surprisingly handsome features. But despite his looks, he was rather nerdy quite awkward at times. At least, he was rather lovely company.
Eric was reading the Metro newspaper in his hand when a presence appeared and covered the male's eyes with their hands. "Guess who~" the voice spoke. Eric sighed and lowered his newspaper, thinking it was one of Charlie's pranks and spoke, "Charlie, stop imitating Esther. I just had enough of your pranks when it comes to-"
He paused when he turned to face Ether instead of Charlie. He blushed beneath his spectacles and muttered, "E-Esther! You're back"
"Yep" said Esther, "I'm alive and well"
Charlie tackled her best friend into a tight hug. Thankfully, the two didn't fall as they hugged one another. The Doctor stood aside so the three friends could keep up with one another before Charlie noticed him.
"Who is that?" she asked
Eric turned his direction towards the time lord then back at the girls, "Is he a new friend of yours?" he asked, "Or perhaps a professor?"
"Well..." said Esther, "This is the Doctor, he's uhh"
"You mean, THE Doctor?" asked Eric, walking toward the time lord, nearly tripping over his own feet before shaking hands with the said Doctor. "It's an honor to finally meet you, Doctor. I'm a huge fan of your work!"
The Doctor looked rather surprised but smiled and shook the male's hand in return. "Thank you, I'm flattered"
"Not gonna lie tho, I like a D.I.L.F. every now and then" said Charlie, eying the Doctor up and down.
"A what?" asked the Doctor, "D.I.L.F.? What is that?"
"A dad I like to-"
"Okay! Enough of that" said Esther, "why don't we head on over to the café and catch up?"
The two friends finally agree and head off to the café with the Doctor once again following behind. He couldn't remember the last time he saw his companions reuniting with friends and/or family after traveling through time and space for a good while. The figure from earlier observed the group within the shadows, mostly Esther, thinking of a proper way to meet the girl without anyone else around.
Especially the Doctor.
