“You be a good boy, okay?” Y/n sat on her knees, hunched forward far enough that her cheek could rest against the edge of the bed. Tomoru sat in front of her, his hands grabbed onto her hair. Her lips twitched into a slight frown, and let out a soft sigh. “Leaving you is always so hard.”

Someone walked behind her, their footsteps stopped beside the bed. The edge dipped down, causing Tomoru to tilt to the side, until he landed on Giran’s lap. With a chuckle, he carefully picked up the toddler and sat him down straight again in his place. Y/n stayed in the same curled forward position, only her eyes moved towards the older villain. “Sorry to make you babysit again. I know it’s not in your job description and you aren’t obligated to do it.”

“As I’ve said before, you and this little guy are my retirement investments.” Giran paused for a moment, with a soft grin on his face. “What did I ask for last? Was it a mansion or a yacht? Seaside resort? Ah—well either way, I’m upgrading the deal to a small country.”

“Just a small country?” y/n asked. She smiled as she stood up and sat beside him with Tomoru between them. “What about a medium-sized one?”

“Nope. I don’t need too much space. If that’s too much, I’d be more than happy to have just Okinawa.” He chuckled under his breath and the light-hearted look on his face soon vanished as he reached into his inner pocket. Giran pulled out his phone, he swiped his finger along the screen before handing it off to y/n.

Angry, hate filled eyes stared back at her. Y/n glanced up from the mug shot to Giran with a confused look on her face. “That’s your man, remember his face.”

Y/n returned her attention back to the picture, staring at the image on his phone until every scar and crease on his face was burned into her memory. Intrusive thoughts settled in. She lowered the phone onto her lap, her fingers playing with the bunny ears on the case. “I’m scared.”

Giran went quiet and they sat in silence, the ticks from the clock on the wall filled the room. She suddenly felt a firm grip on her shoulder, pulling her attention to the villain sitting next to her. “That’s normal. No matter how big of a badass some jackasses try to act, everyone gets a little scared from time to time. Just breathe.”

Y/n nodded and took a long drawn out breath out. His hold on her shoulder lightened. “Keep your cool. Ya got this, kiddo.”

“This should be easy as long as we stick to the plan.” Although she was trying to keep Giran’s advice in mind, she wondered if they could tell how uncertain she felt. Y/n was thankful for the thin veil of darkness surrounding them, protecting her from their gaze fixed on her.

Steady and quiet clicks sounded like a metronome. Buriki donned bands upon bands of metal beaded bracelets along his arms. He rolled a pellet between his fingers before releasing it. The small, coin-sized projectile snapped back into place, clacking against the beads beside it.

Y/n followed his gaze to the platform below. Villains of all shapes and sizes dressed in dark clothing worked below them, transporting large wooden crates from the warehouse to a boat resting in the harbor. The small group of four had managed to infiltrate the building and were still completely unnoticed hiding above them on the catwalk. From where they stood, the dream of criminals below looked akin to ants working hard.

The tenseness that firmly gripped onto y/n tightened with each click of Buriki’s bullets. To her, they sounded like firecrackers. She held her breath, wholly expecting anyone with good enough hearing to discern his noise over the sound of footsteps echoing and boxes scraping against the concrete floor. Her eyes darted around the warehouse, convened someone was going to notice. Y/n couldn’t take it anymore. She reached out and took his arm, jerking him closer to her. Her brows furrowed as she leaned in closer to him, whispering in a biting tone. “Buriki, cut it out. I swear if you blow our cover because you need to fidget with something—”
