Y/n pulled out a pen and notepad. Ozima sat across from her. Buriki to y/n's side. This was the first time she had gathered both her allies to have a word with them. She always saw this as Tomura's thing. It felt unreal being in charge. Y/n didn't think she was worthy. The entire night before, all she could think about was how Tomura had better options. Certainly, anyone else in The League would have been a better choice.
Me. Compress was the analytical type. He always thought things through before acting or speaking. Dabi was, well, Dabi— Mr. Perfect villain. He always seemed to know what he was doing even when he's going in blind. Any member of The League could have been a more suitable choice. Tomura picked y/n, though. Since he's putting so much faith in her, she was determined to return the favor and put in the extra effort.
The dark-haired man slumped into his seat. Small, metallic clicking sounds came from his direction. Upon taking a glance under the table, y/n discovered that had removed one of his bracelets and was currently playing with the metal beads in his hands, rolling them between his fingers and hitting them together as he stared at Ozima. The expression on his face was flat, nearly unreadable. For the first time, he almost looked serious. However, the noise coming from his direction made her think otherwise.
Y/n tried to think of how to start. However, y/n found herself distracted by the glaring noise. She cleared her throat as she looked at Buriki and down to the silver beads in his hand. "I'm going to get bored and fall asleep if you make me stop. Besides, if you think this is loud, it could be much worse. Next time I'll bring the Rubix Cube with me," he said.
She rolled her eyes and returned her attention to Ozima. "Okay, so start from the beginning. Where did you meet Okano?"
Ozima looked down towards her hands folded on her lap. "When did I meet him?" she whispered. The brunette hummed. "A month— no! Two months ago."
Y/n cataloged her answer. She tapped on the notepad with her pen. "Okay, how did you meet him?"
"It was completely by chance! I heard of a place where I could find a job and I overheard two men talking." Y/n looked down at her notepad as she jotted down details as quickly as possible. "They were talking about having trouble finding people."
"The League," y/n muttered. She glanced up from her notepad and the two locked eyes. "Were they looking for anyone specific?"
Ozima's brows knitted together. She lowered her head, locks of curly brown hair fell and covered her gray eyes. "Well, there was one person they valued most of all, but they were okay with anyone. It was meant to send a message, or, that's how they put it."
Y/n already knew who she was referring to, regardless, she asked anyway. "And who was their main target?"
"The leader," Ozima mumbled. Y/n felt her stomach constrict itself until she felt sick. Even though she knew that was going to be the brunette's answer, hearing it in person hit harder.
The steady clicking stopped. Buriki snickered under his breath. "Oh, no! Poor hubby." He playfully lamented until y/n shot him a glare. His smile widened as the teasing came to a stop.
"And why did you end up picking Spinner over Tomura?" y/n asked.
"Convenience," she replied; "his mutation made him much easier to find." Y/n sat back into her seat, she had to give Ozima that.
Though, y/n was impressed. She had spent over a year trying to hunt down literally anyone in The League of Villains, and she couldn't find anyone. In fact, she was the one who had been found. To this day, y/n didn't know exactly how Giran did it, but she couldn't thank him enough. She felt overwhelmed thinking about how much she owed him over the years. Something told her that in a few more years, a mansion on a private island wasn't going to compensate for all the trouble she and Tomura have caused.
