━━━━━━━━━━━DAENA LOVED FLYING. She supposed she had her dragon to thank for that, since Diaval was pretty large for his age and listened to her better than the other ones listened to their riders. The keepers at the dragonpit had reluctantly agreed to let her fly with her dragon, but she had to fly in a restricted area and have a few guards to watch over her at all times.
Her connection with her dragon was incerdible. She could feel Diaval even when she wasn't with him, and she swore that sometimes she didn't even have to talk in High Valyrian for him to do something she wished. He just knew.
While her brothers, along with Aegon and Aemond were stuck in the dragon pit listening to boring advice and bonding with their dragons, Daena had the privilege of flying on dragonback, since her bonding had been faster and stronger than theirs. That was a fact she was very proud of, and never shut up about.
The wind in her hair felt amazing, and she laughed as Diaval circled around a bit. After a while she did get bored, and wanted to go see Jace train with Vermax, for he had said that he wished to see his dragon use his fire for the first time at his command. Daena was excited for him, for she remembered how it felt to say the word 'dracarys' for the first time and have Diaval use his ability with fire, burning the sheep in front of him. It had been incredible, and the now fourteen-year-old wanted nothing more than to see her brother experience the same thing.
As they landed safely to the ground, Daena brought her hand out to Diaval's face, patting him lovingly. "Sýz taōba," she complimented and walked him inside.
After securing that he was safe and cared for, the fourteen-year-old ran into the familiar room just outside the pit to see Jace command Vermax. She smiled and walked up to him, giving him a side-hug. "Going well?" she whispered.
Jace smiled wide and nodded in response.
Daena then saw Aemond standing next to his brother, looking like he'd rather kill himself than be present. She felt bad for him. Not only did Aemond not have a dragon of his own, but he also had to watch as the rest of his family trained with their own dragons. A few years ago she would have gone up to him and taken his hand in hers, but seeing as the boy wanted nothing to do with her, she decided to stand with Luke, who instantly clung to her side.
She turned her head and caught Aegon's eyes. He sent her a smile and an eyeroll, telling her that he was bored. Daena snickered and smiled at him back, motioning with her eyes towards Jace and Vermax, commanding him to focus. Aegon rolled his eyes again, but listened to her anyway, his gaze finding Vermax easily in the large room.
