━━━━━━━━━━━ AFTER A LONG WALK ON THE BEACH with Aemond, the two finally found the big beautiful dragon. Vhagar lied on the ground sleeping, her breathing so strong that the two children saw the grass further away move with the rhythm of it. She truly was magnificent. Even grander than Daena had ever pictured the dragon. And that was saying something.

Daena stared at the beast in awe, as did Aemond. She then turned to him and pushed him forward, making him stumble on the sand. "Go on." She encouraged. "I'll be here."

Aemond nervously started walking towards the huge she-dragon, every once in a while glancing behind him to see Daena, who every time smiled at him and motioned him forward with her hands.

Daena watched her uncle stand in front of Vhagar, her size only contrasting next to the small boy. Gods, the dragon was huge. She watched Aemond reach for the ropes that lead to the saddle, which then awoke the great dragon. She winced, definitely not a great start.

Vhagar calmly looked at Aemond for a second, then went back to sleep, as if deeming him not to be a threat. The boy scrunched his eyebrows and turned to Daena, who snickered at him and told him to try again.

He did. Vhagar lifted her head, facing him once again, but this time she opened her mouth. Daena could see the fire getting ready to shoot out and burn her uncle.

"Aemond!" she yelled as a warning, eyebrows furrowed. She did not want this going badly. If she had to walk back alone and explain to Alicent how she encouraged her son and got him killed, she'd probably get murdered in her sleep.

But he ignored her. Aemond kept his eyes on the dragon before putting his hand out, the palm facing the beast.

"Dohaeras," he said, keeping his stance, and Daena nervously watched the huge dragon to see what would happen. "Dohaeras, Vhagar. Lykiri." Aemond yelled, his confidence rising as he noticed Vhagar turning her head away. He then took a hold of the rope, looking at Vhagar, who didn't stop him this time, and then he continued climbing up.

It took a long while, but soon Daena was watching him sit down on the saddle of the dragon. His smile was huge, and he looked marvelous. He truly belonged on the back of a dragon. It was a shame he had been deprived of one for so long. Aemond grabbed a hold of the saddle and looked up. "Sōvēs, Vhagar!"

Daena took several steps back as she noticed Vhagar slowly standing up, getting ready to take flight. She watched in awe as the dragon stood up, showing how big she actually was. Vhagar shook her wings to get rod of the sand, and then the dragon started running.
