Chloe was quick to shoot Marcus in the arm, preventing him from causing anymore harm. He yelled in pain and tried reaching for the gun, but Maze got to it before him and started beating him brutally.

Lucifer was focused on one thing, the love of his life. He sprinted towards Ariel, screaming her name and pleading for her to come back to him. Though, a shot to the head isn't the same as any other gunshot. She was gone, no last words, nothing.

Once Chloe and Maze dealt with Marcus, they finally took in what happened to Ariel. The sounds of Marcus groaning from his injuries was drowned out by the complete silence the three of them experienced looking at her lifeless body. Soon, that silence was consumed by the sobs of Lucifer. Chloe and Maze took a bow of silence in honor of her memory, shedding a few tears themselves. Lucifer hunched over her, holding her body in his arms. He tried to convince himself that she wasn't gone, that she may have just been faking, but as time went on, he knew deep down she was gone.

He laid her down on the ground, wiping his tears away. Slowly, he turned around, his eyes landing on Marcus. The Devil grew red hot, clenching his fists and pacing towards the beaten man. Maze knew exactly what was going to happen, but Chloe, who was still very much unaware of Lucifer's celestial being, was unsure of what he was doing.

His eyes flashed a deep, crimson red and his white wings unfurled from his back, smacking both ladies accidentally. He bent over and picked up Marcus from his bloodied collar. Chloe was too in shock to speak that she couldn't tell him to put Marcus down. He raised him in the air, gave him a snarl and flashed his devil face, which he hasn't used ever since becoming involved with Ariel.

Ariel... he thought about the beginning of their relationship. Every memory he had of her came playing back into his head. All he wanted to do was scare Marcus into insanity, but reminiscing about the woman he had just lost drew him into an anger he has never experienced before.

With Marcus in his hands, gasping for air, Lucifer couldn't control himself. He flung him into the ground, but the force Lucifer applied broke through the floor, the earth's crust, its mantle, and the core until they reached the dark, gloomy state that the Devil once ruled.

Back on earth, Maze was trying to comfort Chloe, who went through the same exact thing Ariel had gone through: denial. Already having to deal with the death of Ariel, she was struggling to deal with what she saw. Although, unlike Ariel, she was told countless times that Lucifer was the Devil. It had always made sense to her, so she wasn't too shocked to see it. It was just what she saw that shocked her.

"Chloe! Answer me! Are you okay?" The detective snapped out of it, looking at the crime scene in front of them. She pulled her phone out and called Ella, along with the LAPD. She was not going to let what she saw affect her work. Whatever was going on in her head, she pushed it away and focused on... what was she focusing on? Ariel was dead, and Marcus was nowhere to be seen.
