- in which gen z hyunjin gives main character energy -

the steamy make-out session that the kiss had turned into was rudely interrupted by bang chan, his right hand man, seungmin, and other gangsters bursting into the hideout of lee minho's gang.

"omg, hyun'," hyunjin groaned, getting off minho's lap, "could you not wait a little? things were just gettin' interestin'."

he flashed minho a smile. the gangster winked and sent him an air kiss.

chan pulled out a gun and aimed it at minho, who seemed to still be too intoxicated by hyunjin's kisses to react properly. "hands off my brother!"

hyunjin sighed. "hyun', you're so quick to pull a gun on someone, but have you asked yourself is this okay? is this the smart thin' to do in the situation? are those years in prison worth it?" his voice was weary. "have you ever considered any of this? not to mention that his hands aren't on me anymore."

defeated by his brother's logic, chan visibly weakened his grasp on the gun.

this was all hyunjin needed. he threw himself on his brother and enveloped him and seungmin in a tight hug. "i lowkey missed you, fam!"

taken aback, chan forgot that he was about to shoot lee minho. "i missed you too, jinie," he said, patting hyunjin's back affectionately. "i'm so happy that you're not hurt."

"who'd hurt me?" hyunjin scoffed. he let go of the hug and pointed at himself. "haven't you seen my silhouette? it's givin' main character energy." he flipped his hair, slapping seungmin with it.

"won't you introduce me?" minho urged from his place behind the table.

hyunjin turned to give him a look, and then, remembering what his hot daddy gangster boyfriend who respected consent wanted, beamed at chan: "hyun', meet my boyfriend. ta-da!" he waved his arms in minho's direction.

"you–" chan roared at minho, grabbing the gun again.

it took hyunjin, seungmin, changbin, felix, jeongin, and chan's whole gang to restrain chan from shooting his way out of the situation.

it all ended with minho, who turned out to be the less toxically masculine between the two not toxically masculine gang leaders, bowing a ninety-degree bow and apologizing, and asking for permission to date hyunjin.

the permission was [grudgingly] granted because well, hyunjin has the main character energy, and the main character gets a happy ending.
