~~ JUNGKOOK'S POV ~~

"Jangmi, I'm coming," I whisper tirelessly through gritted teeth, constantly wiping my forehead to rid it of my blood and sweat. As though a trillion sharp knifes are cutting into every section of my frail skin, I wither in pain, inhaling strong gushes of air in order to steady my ragged breathing.

I try my best to run throughout the village, grasping my dagger as though something may pop out at any time and attack me; I'm on the very edge of existence... it feels as though I am barely alive. As though I'm hanging onto a tall jagged cliff with only one arm.

I sigh with relief when I realize Yoongi's home isn't far from where I am now; I pray with all of my heart that Jimin has delivered her safely.

I drag myself in the correct direction, my frets dragging against the mud as I attempt to hold myself upright.

"Almost there," I whisper to myself, aching for the moment when I can hold her in my arms once again and tell her it will be okay. If only I was able to explain how much she means to me.

I begin to quicken my pace once Yoongi's neighbourhood comes into view, homes gradually growing in size and intricacies as I continue.

"Jungkook," a low and eerie voice taunts from the shadows.

I snap my head back and forth, my heart screeching with fear. Not fear for myself, no. Fear Jangmi; fear for our unborn child. How could I leave them all alone in this terrible world? To suffer? To perish into ash? It was the first time I had ever been fearful. It was the first time I had ever felt defeat.

But no.

I wasn't going to loose... Not today.

Despite the gruelling and excruciating pain surging through every centimetre of my body, I stood upright, clutching my dagger with so much strength until my fingers began to turn purple.

"Come out of the shadow, you snake," I spit deceitfully, ready to spread this man to pieces.

I continue to prowl around, standing my guard. An unsettling aura fills the atmosphere as I scamper too and fro, searching for the worthless serpent.

"Ah," I suddenly let out a choked cry, my entire body freezing at the sudden occurrence.

Pain-- it's the only thing I feel.

Unlike my current wounds, this is a deep and aimed attack, pulsing far into my skin and flesh. I let out a small whimper, wincing at the amount of discomfort coursing throughout my veins.

I slowly peer down, my wide eyes inching towards my tattered clothing. My gaze diverts to my side, heart sinking at the realization...

I've been hit

I glance at the arrow pierced through my side with a sickened expression, several coughs escaping my lips as blood begins to pool in the corners of my cracked lips. I wipe my mouth, refusing to stop here. My vision becomes blurry, barely unable to make out the approaching figure of Muhyeok.

I lean forward, continuing to walk towards him with my dagger raised.

"Grab him!" Muhyeok shouts, and to my utter horror, two men sweep up behind me, yanking onto my arms with immense force. The dagger slips from my hands, gently grazing the side of my leg; it doesn't matter anymore. My body begins to feel numb from all the searing aching.
