Lyla's POV

I woke up to loud music blasting from downstairs. I groaned feeling around the bed alrighty knowing that Chi wasn't gon be there. Kacey was still sound asleep. I slowly got up trying my best not to wake her up. I then pulled my jacket down opening the door to the room walking out quietly shutting it close behind me. I walked down the stairs rubbing my eyes holding onto the railing. Once I got down the stairs I saw the speaker sittin by the end of couch. I walked over to it and turned it down. "Have ya'll lost yo damn minds?" I snapped seeing Cisco and Chi doin goofy dances. "You need to get up anyways." Chi mugged. "Idgaf I'm tired yall couldn't turn the shit down some?" I asked putting my hand on my hip. "My fault sis." Cisco laughed. "Ima turn it down some." He said. "Ok bro." I mumbled making my way back up the stairs. I then went back into Chi's room and laid down on the bed. I smiled falling back asleep just to be waken up again. OMFG. "Lyla get up." I heard Chi say. "What tf do you want?" I cursed sitting up. "Wanna come wit me to the stu?" I heard him ask. "What time is it?" I asked rubbing my eyes. "It's 10 o'clock." He said lookin at his phone. "Yeah i'll come." I said gettin up. "Lemme take a shower first." I mumbled walkin into the bathroom. "Lemme get in." He smiled. "Boy." I said smiling pushing him back some. I then went into the bathroom and started the shower. I got in washing up then got out. I got my toothbrush out starting to brushed my teeth. I then deeply cleaned my face. I put my outfit on and then did my hair. I looked at myself one more time befo walkin out the bathroom. Chi was on his phone sittin at the edge of the bed. "I'm done." I said makin my presence known. He looked up from his phone smiling. "You look beautiful." He said walkin ovea to me wrapping his arms around my waist. "Thank you." I smiled showing my teeth. He hummed lettin me go. "C'mon." He said grabbing my hand. We walked out the door then walked down the stairs. We got to the living room seeing Cisco and Malek sittin there playin the game. "You fuckin suck." Cisco cussed at Malek. I guess they lost. "Nigga be fuckin fr you can't shoot worth shit." Malek mugged. I looked up at Chi and looked down at me, we both shook our heads walkin to the front door. Chi grabbed the car keys and I grabbed the door keys. We then walked out the front door and went down to the driveway. Chi unlocked the door to the car and I opened the passenger door gettin in closing it. Chi got in the driver's seat starting the car up. I put my seatbelt on sitting back. He handed me aux I grabbed it hooking it up to my phone. I went down my playlist picking out a song. He took the car out of park and backed out the driveway. I picked out "Don't Need" by Rod Wave. "All the things you don't need." I sung proudly. Chi shook his head glancing over at me. "All you do is listen to Rod." He said laughing. "Not true." I gasped. He chuckled shaking his head. It didn't take for us to get to the stu. Once we did we both got out the car and walked up to the front of the building. Chi opened the door for me to walk in then he walked in closely behind me. I smiled. I went into the room and sat on the couch. He went over and sat by the machine thingy. "You wanna record some while we're here?" Chi asked lookin over at me. " I might but I'm here for you." I said laying back watching as he got to work.

An hour later 

I got bored of him listening to the same beats over and over again. So I got up walked over to him. He spun around in his chair to face me. "You need sum ma?" He asked playing the pen in his hands. I shook my head no. He furrowed his eyebrows. He motioned for me to come and sit on his lap. I sat on his lap scooting back some. I laid my head back on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me. "You having trouble?" I asked him. "Yea." He mumbled. "What song you workin on?" I asked like if I could help. I turned around so that we could be face to face. "Flex." He said then handed me his notebook. "Running up another check I had to flex, stunning on my ex I had to flex." Is what was written down on the paper. I hummed thinkin of different phases. "Reply it." I said talkin about the beat. He reached over and tapped a button and the beat restarted. "Runnin up anotha check I had to flex, stunning on my ex, I had to flex. They tryna bring me down but I'm up next, pull up in a Bent now they upset." I rapped then shook my head no. "That's it." Chi jumped a little. My ass almost fell. "Thanks ma." He said kissing my forehead over and over again. I giggled trying to move my face. "You don't like my kisses." He frowned lookin at me. "Of course I doooo." I said grabbing his face placing kisses all over. He laughed as I stopped. "What would I do wit out you?" He asked smiling. I shrugged. Just then his phone started buzzing like crazy. He picked it up to see who it was and immediately sat it back down. I frowned. "Everything ok?" I asked picking up his phone. He nodded still silent. I decided to pick up the phone to see who called. It was Jade. I mugged the phone then looked up and mugged him. "Tf is she callin you for?" I asked him. He shrugged. I continued to go through his phone looking at how many times they called. I connected the dots. Everytime I texted him the other day he didn't text back it was because he was entertaining this bitch. I got off him as I felt my self getting mad. "Wtf Jonathan." I yelled at him. He sighed trying to touch. I stepped back shaking my head. Ain't no way, I thought we been over this before. I shook my head. A tear rolled off my cheek as I grab my stuff. "Lyla." He called after me. I called Yb to pick me up. "Hello?" He answered on the second ring. "Can you come get me?" I asked starting to cry. "Yeah everything ok?" He asked as he started moving around. "Mhm." i hummed then hung up. "I can explain." I heard Chi said getting outside standing next to me. "I don't wanna hear you fuckin talk bro." I said putting my hand up to his face. "It was a mistake." He ranted. I shook my head. It didn't take long for yb to get here, when he did I hoped in the car and left Chi to stand there looking dumb. I don't understand I gave this boy everything I had in me. My love everything, I didn't hold back nothing from him. But I get cheated on, I don't understand this shit at all. Kentrell didn't say anything to me for a while until we pulled up in front of my house. "How did you know I wanted to go home?" I whispered. "It was a lucky guess." He chuckled. I nodded then opened the door to the car about to get out. "If there's ever anything you wanna talk about I'm always here." He said.  I nodded then got out closing his door. "Thank you." I said before walkin up to my door step. I can't even cry like that because I felt it coming. When we went to the water park I felt something different happen between us, shit yesterday when he wasn't answering any of my fuckin calls. I should've listen when people was saying I shouldn't have took him back. I walked into the house and slammed the door behind me. I rushed into the living room seeing Mosey, Malek, and Royce. Mascara ran down my face. They glanced over and me frowned. "What happened to you?" Malek laughed. I rolled my eyes stomping up the stairs. "What tf." Royce said smacking him in the back of his head. I went up to my room and cried basically. I cried until I couldn't no more. I played summer walker and just chilled. I went to instagram and decided to blast this nigga. "It's crazy how you fuckin some bitch and got a whole girlfriend." I posted it on my story. It got a ton of replys. I didn't reply back to any of them. I just wanted laugh because he really thought that he was getting over on somebody. That shit is funny asf to me. I turned on my speaker and connected it to my phone. I played "Don't" by Bryson Tiller. I nodded my head to the music as I sat there in deep thought. I surprised that I'm not even crying. But now thinking about crying is makin we wanna cry. Tears swelled in my eyes. I love him. He has my heart. Was I just naive? Thoughts ran through my head like a track meet. When my door opened revealing Mosey. I quickly wiped my face and turned off the music. He shook his head walked over and sat on the bed. "You don't think I was gonna suspect anything?" He asked me with a light chuckle. A smile appeared on my face. "What happened?" He asked analyzing my face. "He cheated." I sniffled. "Dammit Chi." He mumbled. "I love him Mo." I frowned as more tears dared to leave my eyes. "I know he's young he don't understand love." He said bringing me into a hug. "He says he loves then makes me look stupid by hurting me, it just doesn't make sense to me." I ranted on. He sat there rubbing my back. "Who was it?" He asked me. "Jade." I said getting angry inside just saying her name. He mumbled something that I couldn't understand. "He got mad when I was texting a child hood best friend but he gets to text his ex and flirt and shit?" I questioned. "Her asking when she's gonna see him again, that's bullshit." I yelled. He sighed. "I know he fucked up ok but you don't need to be stressing about him." He helped. I nodded. "You're right." I said nodding. "I'm done with him." I added on. "I got business to handle, I can't be dwelling over this shit." I said wiping my face. "That's it." Mosey laughed. I got up dusting myself off. I slipped my shoes off and grabbed my phone putting it in my pocket. "I need you to take me somewhere please." I told him. "Ight where to?" He asked as we walked out my room. "Down the street please to my building." I told him. "Ight you got the key to it?" He asked me. I nodded. We walked downstairs to see Chi and Royce arguing. "You hurt her and I told you I would beat your ass if you did." Royce said raising his fist. "He's not even worth it." I said walking past them. "Lyla I-." Chi started to say but I cut him off. "Save it." I yelled. Me and Mosey walked out the door and to the car. He unlocked it and we both got in. I hummed to the music as we drove down the street. We soon made it to the building. I got out and analyzed it. I then took the key the lady gave me and opened it. I walked in and immediately my eyes went wide. "GODDAMN." I heard Mosey yell from behind me. I turned around and mugged him. "I mean this shouldn't be too hard." He said giving me a light smile. "Better." I said turning around. "It's big though." He added on. I nodded my head in agreement. "If I want my business to kick off then I need to start cleaning this place up. "Ima call Grace over here you don't have to stay if you don't want to." I told him. "No I'll stay I don't have shit to do anyways." He shrugged. "Ok can you call Grace then please." I asked grabbing some boxes. "Sure." He said pulling out his phone. "Hello." I heard her voice. "Hey Grace could you come over Lyla's building me and her cleaning up." He said. "Fasho you goin back to the house?" She asked. "Nah ima stay wit ya'll." Mosey said licking his lips. "Ok well I have Jordan with me could you-." She started to ask. "I'll take her back to the house for you." He suggested. "Thank you Mosey." She said and with that she hung up. I looked over at Mosey to see him smiling his ass off. I think they like each other, they need to get together already. "What?" He asked noticing that I was lookin at him. "You like her." I smiled. His face changed. "No I don't." He said clearing his throat. "Mhm." I hummed putting curtains in a box. "You think she likes me?" He asked me. "If you're gonna be here work." I said tossing him a broom. He caught it and started sweeping. "Do you think so?" He asked me again. "Nigga she told you she liked you remember." I laughed at how dumb he was being. "She can tell me anything but if she's lying then I need to know." He huffed. "We've known Grace for a little while now ok she's my rock. She's was there for me when I lost Jhene ok, she's coo people. She's a nice girl I could see you and her working out lowkey." I said giving him my two sense. "Bet." He said getting all happy and shit. "Keep sweeping." I told him. "I don't think I would wanna work for you." He said rolling his eyes then kept sweeping. "Yeah yeah less talk more work." I said taking trash and putting it in a trash bag. He mumbled something under his breath.

"Wsppp gang." I heard Grace say walkin into the building. "GODDAMN." She yelled lookin around. "That's what I said." Mosey said laughing. "Ya'll some asswholes, when we done with it, it's going to look way better." I encouraged proudly. Mosey put the broom against the wall and picked up little Jordan. "Heyy little one." He smiled at her. "Mo mo." She smiled holding his face. I smiled at the scene. "We gon go back to the house and leave ya'll two to work magic on this place." He said lookin around one more time befo walkin out. "So how you been?" Grace asked me walkin over and takin a box. "Just found out Chi was cheating." I said with a fake smile. Her smile dropped as she heard that. "Damn I'm sorry about that." She said feeling sorry for me. "Nah it's all good I'm glad that I found out how I did then on the media." I shrugged. "I know that's not it Lyla." She said putting some left over supplies into the box. "I don't wanna talk about Grace, I'm better off without him today was prime evidence of that." I said not wanting to talk about it. It's better that I'm not with Chi anymore. Of course I didn't want our relationship to end. But I can't keep getting hurt because he doesn't know how to make decisions. This is just going to have to be a life lesson for him. To never play with girls feelings. Think with your head and not something else. It's just weird to me why he could even think about cheating. I was being loyal to him. And the fact that his song that he's writing about is about flexing on his ex is crazy. I mean I did write it but he was going along with everything like it's ok. If he wanted to be with her why didn't he just tell me that shit? Now I'm out here looking like a damn fool. Me and Grace spent the rest of the day cleaning up the place. We soon finished cleaning up all the trash. We sat down on the two chairs that were in there. "Fuck I'm tired." She said rubbing on her knees. "Nahh deadass this shit here." I said shaking my head. "Hey atleast it's done for now." She yawned. I nodded. "Well we did the hardest part now all we gotta do is put the materials in here and paint it and shit." I added on. "Yeah that's the fun part." She said. "You tryna go home?" I asked her. She nodded real fast. We both laughed as we got up. We walked out the door to the building. I locked it back. Shit I forgot that Mosey left. "You wanna walk back?" I asked her. She hesitated then agreed since the house is right down the street. When we made it to the house and walked up to the door and opened it. I locked the door behind me then we walked to the living room and sat down. "Fuck." I mumbled rubbing my head. "That shit was brutal." Grace chuckled. "Hell yea, thank you for coming by to help me, you didn't have to but you did." I thanked her. "Chill out yk we family." She said dabbing me up. I smiled. Jhene would've been proud of who I've become.
