Never Trust a Snake

First person POV:

As I was training on the deck, the boys come out, all talking to each other.

I finish my balance practice and walk over to them. "Whats up?" I ask them.

"Zane slept in and then he banged his head on his bunk bed." Jay said, between chuckles.

"Are you alright?" I ask Zane, walking in front of him.

"He's fine." Kai says, pushing him away.

"Oh, okay. So, what did you dream about?" I ask him.

"I saw the falcon again." The ice ninja answered, calmly.

"Woah, Zane. Every time you see that bird, something big happens." Jay enthuses.

Sensei Wu walks in slowly, making me walk towards him.

I explained that I already have done my warm ups and he allows me to go up to the bridge with Nya.

"Nya, how are you today, I didn't get to see you when I woke up." I ask her, suspiciously.

"Oh yeah, I, umm, was checking if anything was happening with the serpentine." She stuttered out, anxiously.

"Uh huh, are you sure you weren't working on something else? Perhaps a suit?" I interrogate her and I tap on her bracelet, a hologram pops up and shows a mech blueprint.

"Ok, you got me. I'm making a samurai suit to help you all. But you can't tell anyone, even my brother." Nya blushes while turning off her bracelet.

"Why would I ever tell them, and why would I tell your brother?" I ask her.

"I don't know, maybe because he likes you?" She answered, blank faced.

"Wha-" I cut myself off as Sensei walks in.

"Y/n. I have given the ninja a task. I expect you not to help them." He told me with authority.

"What, why can't I? And what's the task?" I eagerly ask, still shocked at what Nya just told me.

"I have given them a simple riddle to solve for their ignorance during my teachings." He answers.

"What's the riddle?" I question.

"The riddle is, what is the best way to defeat your enemy?" He finishes while walking out of the bridge.

I think for a moment before realising something very important.

"Nya, what do you mean Kai likes me?"

"Hey, Y/n. Wait up." Jay yells as I'm about to enter my room.

"If you want me to help you with the riddle, I'm sorry, but Sensei said I can't." I sigh as he lowers his head.

"Can you give me a hint?" He asks with hope.

"Ugh, fine. Friends." I hint, nudging him.

He gasps and runs away, probably to the other boys.

"Thank you, Y/n. I love you!" He yells and he turns the corner.

"Uh. Okay?" I say to my self.

Awhile later, me and Nya are sitting in the bridge again, when we hear the boys yell out, "Teamwork!"

I sigh, Jay misunderstood my hint.

"So, are you still thinking about Kai?" Nya asks, shoving me lightly.

"No, I'm thinking about Jay yelling out 'I love you' to me." I answers and her face drops.
