Waking up, I saw a note on my pillow next to me.

I put the leftover brookies in the
back of the fridge.

Love her. She knows to put them in the back of the fridge to hide them from my brother. I get up seeing the time 6:30 a.m. That being later then I'd like, I hop out of bed, slip on a sweatshirt and cargo pants, and hurry to the bathroom. While tying my hair in a messy bun, Avy calls me.
Hey, I'm outside. She says. It's 6:45 already? Avy picks me up everyday at the same time.
Hey, I'll be down in a sec. I say, putting toothpaste on my toothbrush.
Alright, I'm parked. See ya in a bit.
Bye. I say, finishing up my morning routine.
I grab my bag and I'm out the door by 6:50. Locking the door, I look down and see Avy in her jeep jamming to Evergreen by Omar Apollo.
"Woke up late did we?" She laughs.
"Maybe, so sue me." I chuckle. And we drive off to school, getting there about 5 minutes later. Avy and I talk casually along the way. Making plans for after school, before the party.
Eventually we arrive to our table with everyone sitting already.
"You guys are later than usual. Normally you're the first ones here." Saige comments.
"Well, I woke up later than usual." I replied, shaking my head.
Shortly after, the bell rings, I hug Winslow and we all head to class. Saige, Ottie and I walk the same direction.
"So, Winslow decided he is going tonight. Are you guys?" I ask.
"Yeah, sure. Why not." Ottie says before walking a different direction to his class.
"And you?"
"I don't know. I'm not a big partier." Saige says, his lips twitching upward a bit into a small smirk.
"Oh I see, you are boring." I tease. His smirk drops and he furrows his eyebrows at me while smiling.
"No, that's not what I meant." He laughs, dimples showing, "I just wanted you to make it more convincing, of course I'm going."
"Why didn't you just say that stupid." I laughed shoving him a bit. He grabbed my arm for balance, almost falling on a short girl next to him.
"Quit it!" He whisper shouts, "you almost made me squish a midget." He giggles. I forget how tall Saige is sometimes, almost a full foot taller than me.
"My bad beanstalk, it's all my fault." I smirk, "Later." I say, departing to enter my class.
"Yeah.. later." He says as he continues down the hall.

The lunch bell rings and I prepare to eat and leave. Winslow catches up to me, grabbing my hand.
"Oh hey, I almost punched you thinking you were a random person." I laugh a little, then stop when I see he twists his face in confusion. "Never mind, where are you going?"
"I'm going to intern in chemistry." He replies, smiling a bit.
"That's right, you like science. Nerd." I joke, laughing a bit.
"Aha, yeah. Chemistry is fun." He laughs awkwardly.
"Well I'm heading to the cafè, but I will see you later?" I turn to him giving him a hug.
"Huh? Oh yeah." He says leaning down and hesitantly kissing my cheek. "Bye."
"Later." We depart.
He has been kind of awkward around me lately. We used to kiss on the lips no problem. Now he feels weird kissing my cheek? Maybe he is still a little upset.
I walk 5 mins to the café around the corner from the school. There, I complete any homework while I wait for school to end so Avy can drive us to her house.
After I order my tea, I sit in the same corner booth I always do. At the same time I see Caden walk in, order his drink, and sit on a bench.
Indigo: look to your left stupid.
Caden looks up in my direction, laughs and walks over to me.
"What are you doing here?" Me.
"What are you doing here bitch?" Caden.
We say at the same time and laugh.
"I always come here after lunch, since I have a modified schedule." I answer first.
"Oh right, you are lucky like that. I'm just ditching." He replies.
After that we insult each other casually as we talk. Crew is a bit of an asshole, but so am I. Which is why we get along so well. The brother and sister of the group, they call us. That's our dynamic.
"So you're coming right?" I ask.
"Huh?" He asks, even though we both knew he heard me.
"Bitch."
"Yes, I am." He chuckles.
"Are you meeting everyone there or?"
"I'll go with you. You said Avyanna is picking you up from here right?"
"Well yeah, but we are getting ready at her house."
"Well good, I can chill there and wait."
"You are going like that?" I smirk. He is wearing a black T-shirt and grey sweatpants.
"Why not, I can pull in this." He smirks back.
We both start laughing loudly earning weird looks. Then we hear a honk outside. As soon as we get in the car, the air is tense. The stupid Caden I just bickered with dissipated. Now the silence was loud, as the ex's avoid conversation. I just sit in silence, avoiding any awkwardness as we pull out the parking lot and head to Avy's.

Avyanna and I head to her room to get ready as Caden waits in the living room.
"What is with you and Caden?" I ask, sitting on her bed, breaking silence.
"I'm not sure." She responds, going through her clothes.
"What does that mean?"
"I'm not sure is what it means. After we broke up, he has been quiet around me or unnecessarily hostile."
"Do you think he is mad at you?" I ask. They definitely still feel for each other.
"Maybe. I'm not mad at him though. I wish we could just talk normally about it." She looks down a little.
"Well never mind that right now. We have a party to get ready for." I deflect. Definitely.
