Later that night, Julian's mom came to pick him up. After they left, me and my parents had a quiet dinner.

"How was school Auggie?" My dad asked.

"Good." I said, unconsciously poking at my food. I was busy thinking about what happened with Julian upstairs.

"Auggie?" My mom said trying to get my full attention. I looked up at her,

"Are you ok?" She asked. I stabbed what I was eating into my fork and put the whole thing in my mouth.

"Yeah." I said, with a mouthful of food completely disregarding the hole in the roof of my mouth. "Just thinking."

"What about?" My dad asked.

"School." I said, still chewing. My parents looked at each other. I could read their faces,

"Is he okay?" My dad's face said.

"He's just being a teenage boy." Said my moms face.

"I'm fine guys. No need to worry." I finally swallowed my mouth full. I looked down at Bear who was staring at me. He was looking at me with his puppy dog eyes,

"Don't look at me like that. I mean that for you Bear and you guys." I then looked up at both my parents. "I'm perfectly fine. May I be excused?" My mom nodded and I left the table. I walked up to my room, and noticed that my computer was lighting up with a face chat call from Christopher. When I pressed answer, Chris appeared on screen.

"Hey Auggie." He said, "How are you?"

"I'm great. How's Connecticut treating you?" I asked him.

"Connecticut was a pain. I'm so happy I'm back in New York." Chris said smirking.

"Wait what?" I said, my eyes actually going wide.

"My parents got divorced a couple years back. After a nasty custody battle me and my dad moved back to New York." Christopher said,

"I'm sorry." I told him, "Do you still visit your mom?"

"Not much anymore. That last time I saw her was a year ago." He said, "That was two years ago. How have you been lately, I feel like it's been ages since I've talked to you."

"Its definitely been a couple years. The last time we spoke was just after fifth grade." I said.

"Has it really been that long?" Chris asked. "That's crazy. How was school today?"

"Got better as the day went on. It started out with a bunch of useless petty repetitive insults." I said.

"Which ones?" Christopher asked.

"All the classics. Freddie Kruger, "Were you in a fire?" Gollum, and so on."

"You've heard all of those." Chris said.

"I know right!" I exclaimed. I talked to Chris for maybe 3 hours. We spent all that time talking about whatever popped into our heads. I fell asleep on face chat, and in the morning I was still at my desk. I stood up and saw Bear sitting on my bed,

"Hey. Whatchu doing?" I asked, not expecting him to respond. I changed my clothes, packed my bag and walked downstairs.

"Good norming Auggie." Mom said.

"Good morning. I feel bad for leaving dinner last night, do you have time to following me to school?" I asked her.

"Of course." She said. I smiled,

"Thanks mom." After breakfast we left the house and walked to the nearest subway. When we emerged at Trevor Day School, my mom hugged me.

"Have a good day Auggie." She said then walked away. As soon as she left, Summer approached me,
