y/n scrolled on her phone aimlessly. she came across the triplets instagram account and frowned.
FLASHBACK!!
15 years old: "happy birthday to youu" the three boys sing. y/n blows out the candles on the vanilla cake. "make a wish!" chris says. y/n is silent for a second and smiles. "what did you wish for?" nick ask while cutting the cake. "i wished for this to stay forever. for us to stay forever" y/n says playing with a strand of hair. "always!" matt says slinging his arm around the girls shoulder while nick and chris smile at her.
16 years old: "i love you y/n" matt blurts out. he covers his mouth in shock. y/n looks at him with wide eyes. "bernardddd" y/n smirks. the boy awkwardly laughs scared for how y/n will react. "i love you too stupid" y/n says wrapping her arms around matt's neck. the two share a long, soft kiss. "THIS IS STRAIGHT UP PORN" chris screams while covering his eyes.
19 years old: y/n unpacks the last box of stuff for the triplets new house. she sighs worrying about the boys living on their own. "y/n we will be okay don't worry" matt says snaking his arms around her waist. "i know..." y/n says not truly convinced. "and we are going to make long distance work, i promise love" matt says placing a soft kiss on y/n's forehead. "i love you" y/n smiles. "i love you more y/n" matt says.
y/n hugs the boys goodbye and heads to the airport to catch her flight home.
PRESENT! y/n and the triplets grew apart once they moved away. y/n stayed in boston and decided to go to college there. she felt comfort in being home. she's now 21 and has not talked to the triplets in at least a year. matt and her both decided it would be best if they stayed friends. y/n did not want things to end but she knew it was for the best. she felt like she was holding him back.
y/n clicks on the triplets insta and looks at their pictures with their new friends. she accidentally likes a post. "SHIT" y/n yells while throwing her phone across the room. she hears her phone vibrate.
