River was said for many days after the truth came out. She hadn't told her parents. They had been so happy lately that she didn't want to upset them. She went to school and things slowly got back to normal. The thing about sadness is it can only make you sad if you let it. And she didnt let it. That's why I love her so much. Because she's so brave.
The big night has arrived! It's time for the school dance! We were both dressed and had taken a million pictures for her parents. When we got to the dance it was in full swing! Everyone was dancing and having a good time. We danced, we ate, we talked to our friends and everything was perfect. At least until Ezra showed up. He walked up to us.
"How are my two least favourite dykes doing tonight?" Before River could say anything I guided her away from him. I was going to let this night get ruined by him. This night my baby girl was going to feel special. We ignored him and danced some more. I made sure to keep him out of River sight. This was going to be a night to remember.
