Chapter VI - Adam

               Adam got up early that day, it was November 14, 2022. He drank coffee with milk and lit a cigarette. Nicotism bothered him more than before. He smoked too much. Lately he had also been coughing from it, just like smokers cough. He was getting ready for work. He worked as a construction worker on a building site. He lived in Warsaw. He had a family, a wife, Joanna, with whom he separated three years ago, and a 4-year-old daughter, Agnieszka. Recently he had not been feeling well and was thinking about going to the doctor. He suffered from general weakness, including muscle weakness, shortness of breath, lost his appetite and lost a lot of weight. He was involved in the construction of single-family houses near Warsaw. He was happy with his work and with his boss, and with his salary.

                  Adam determined for himself that he would go to the general practitioner tomorrow. In the meantime, he called his ex-wife. He wanted to make an appointment to see his daughter. He and his ex-wife agreed that Adam could come on Saturday, November 19. The court agreed that he could see his daughter at least three times a month. Adam had no record of wrongdoing, only his wife fought so hard in court that these meetings would not be alternate custody. Meanwhile, he dressed in a jacket and went to work.

                  Today at work they were finishing the brickwork of one of the houses. The work went briskly, because although Adam didn't feel at full strength, he always exerted himself in his work so that it was never apparent that anything was bothering him. Although now he felt much worse than before. He started coughing and pulled out a handkerchief and there was blood on the handkerchief. He didn't show it to anyone, but he was very worried. They worked for nine hours because the boss wanted to finish this construction as early as possible. Toward the end of his work, he became weak and sat down. When he tried to get up, his head spun hard, he fainted and fell to the ground. His co-workers rushed to his aid and called an ambulance.

                     At the hospital, they gave Adam the necessary tests, and the doctor, suspecting Lung Cancer, after an interview when he learned that Adam smokes almost 30 cigarettes a day, ordered tests for the disease. In addition to the standard tests, the doctor ordered an MRI and CT scan, as well as spirometry and electrocardiology. The tests showed cancerous changes in the lungs. The doctor ordered a biopsy. The results of the test had to wait. Adam didn't know anything yet, the doctor decided that he would only inform him when the biopsy results came in. In the meantime, he told Adam to rest in bed, not to stress, and assured him that everything would be fine.

                     The next day, the doctor accepted the results - adenocarcinoma, advanced stage. He informed Adam about it. Fortunately, the adenocarcinoma did not have a high degree of malignancy. There was no metastasis. Because the lesion could be excised in its entirety, there was a good chance of complete recovery. Andrew watched Adam in the hospital, and involved other Angels so as to support him. God prepared everything so that the lesion could be removed and it was planned that Adam would recover quickly.

                     Andrew was still worried about the actions of the Trochites and Fasites, but God reassured him by saying that in the war on Nubirum they were going to completely defeat these demonic beings.

                    Adam took the information very calmly, the doctor told him that he would perform the operation as soon as possible, so that Adam would have a chance to recover quickly. He also said that chemotherapy and immunotherapy would be needed. The chemotherapy worried Adam. The doctor told him to rest intensively, not to strain himself, and said that he would not be able to work for at least two more months. Fortunately, Adam had an employment contract with his employer, so he will be able to rest easy while on sick leave. In the construction industry, there are cases of black market work, but Adam's boss is one of the group that makes sure everything is legal.
