The One With The Toad Face

Upon entering the house Edan found the majority of her friends sitting in the living room. They all turned to look at her as she entered the room. There was a feeling of tension obvious in the room. Clearly they had all heard the news about her and Severus. She wasn't sure what to say.

George glanced around the room. He noticed how uncomfortable Edan looked. "Well, personally, I think it's about time the two of you got together."

Ron rolled his eyes. "I think it's bollocks. After the way he's treated Harry, Hermione.. All of us at some point really."

"I can't believe you're dating him. He's such a git!" Harry replied angrily. His temper had been short for some time now and it was obvious that wasn't changing anytime soon.

A few people nodded in agreement with Harry. "Look, I get it. Your points are all valid but it doesn't change things for me. Severus and I... Well, we have a deeper connection that can't be ignored."

A scoff erupted from Ron's mouth. "Come off it." He rolled his eyes.

Edan knew now was the time to reveal her connection with Severus. George was the only one present that was aware of it. With a deep sigh she sat down on the floor facing them all. Everyone listened intently as she exposed the true nature and details of her curse. They listened as she explained that Severus was her silence, the only person who could put an end to her episodes before they even began. "He's saved me on so many occasions. The way he is with me is completely different than what you all have to experience. I hate it. I really do but I don't hate him."

Despite her revelation Ron and Harry remained infuriated. It didn't surprise Edan. She had anticipated them being less receptive than the others. After the pair excused themselves after the discussion, those who remained were quite happy for her though still not a fan of her partner. Hopefully over time Edan could influence Severus enough to drop his guard a bit around her family. At least enough for them to truly understand their relationship.

After a bit more talking Edan excused herself to head up to her room. Despite the less than perfect reaction from her friends and family she was still thrilled about Severus. After months upon months of pining after him everything she wanted from him was finally coming to life. Which she had been certain would never be the reality of her life. Edan laid down in bed, smiling to herself as she continued to think about what life would be like with Severus.

The next morning Edan woke up with a belly full of anxiety. She half expected Severus to change his mind about the entire situation they now found themselves in. It still felt rather like a dream she would wake up from disappointed. Edan was floating through the house, engaging in short conversations every now and then but the house occupants noticed how anxious she appeared. Everyone appeared to be slightly nervous Edan would have an episode at the slightest bit of trouble. She thought this was perfectly understandable considering the danger she posed.

Severus was the only person she didn't feel the urge to distance herself from. Over the last few years Edan felt she should leave to protect the people she loved less and less. Now that she would not have to be without Severus her ability to control her episodes made the safety of her family more insured. Thank Merlin, her life had become less complicated at last.

At 4 o'clock Edan had locked herself away in her room and burrowed under the covers. Before such an anxiety inducing event she needed time to collect herself. However, she was quite happy when Tonks burst into her room. A large grin was spread upon her face but it fell when she noticed Edan.

"Oh.. Did something happen?" She asked, sitting beside Edan.

Edan threw the covers off of her. "Nothing happened. It's wigging me out that I'm going on a date with Severus Snape. I've fancied him for so long. If this should end badly I can't imagine we'd be able to continue working together. I'm afraid of losing that, perhaps this isn't a good idea." She admitted.
