Diluc strolled back up to the knights of favonius headquarters for the second and hopefully last time in a while.
He had already had enough of today and it was only 10am.
Not only had he gotten yelled at by that weird pigeon boy on the bridge but his obsessive stan came up to him and tried to ask him on a date but only stammered out a sentence that made no sense whatsoever and he had to awkwardly pull the 'I have somewhere to be move'
The guards at the entrance waved to Diluc and he felt a pang of guilt somewhere in his heart for not returning to the knights but that feeling faded quickly when he saw Kaeya and Jean approaching.
"See, I told you he'd show up." He said to the blonde next to him.
The loud clacks of shoes echoed in the empty hallway as the three of them proceeded to the library.
Diluc softened his expression, from experience he knew that kids like her probably wouldn't trust an adult that looked at her with disappointment.
From the second story of the library Diluc could see Ophelia's side profile. The girl had lemonade pink hair that was tied in a ponytail with the front of her hair wispy and shorter than the rest and it framed her face softly. She had opalescent green eyes with big round glasses that were rose gold and matched her hair subtly.
'She doesn't look like the type to get into fights' Diluc thought but then she turned to look at a bookshelf somewhere under the trio and he saw a tissue up her nose and light bruising above her eyes.
Lisa sat across from her, teacup in hand. When the mauve librarian spotted the group she waved causing Ophelia to follow her wave.
The girl studied Diluc with an untrusting scrutiny that seemed closed off and defensive.

"Ophelia, this is Diluc, he's the owner of dawn winery and the person you will be staying with for now." Jean says hoping for a positive reaction from the quiet girl only to receive a unenthusiastic nod.
The atmosphere became school-canteen jelly thick until Lisa got sick of it and handed the girl a book requesting that she'll come visit soon.
Ophelia gives another cold nod before her and Diluc eventually leave.
