Mason's POV
After I'd finished folding Harlynn's freshly laundered tee shirt along with the towel, I put it back on the coffee table and crouched down low.

I took my index finger and brushed her hair out of her face. She'd fallen asleep only after five minutes of trying to finish our movie.

So while she slept on the couch, I'd made myself comfortable on the floor. I could have put her in her room, but I didn't want to accidentally wake her.

She's so damn beautiful when sleeping.

Even with the drool slithering down the corner of her mouth.

"Mason," she whispered, slowly opening those beautiful brown eyes.

I used my thumb to wipe away at the drool, not carrying that I'd wiped it on my jeans.

"Goodmorning, love."

"You're leaving?" She asked, eyeing the clothes that I had put back on.

She didn't even try to hide her disappointment, which almost made me change my mind. I didn't like the way her frown tugged at my heart. It hurt.

"Yeah. I wish I could stay, but I have somewhere I need to be."

I had planned on staying a little longer before I had to get back home to Lady. But then I received a text from my bestfriend. I haven't seen nor heard from her in months, so it was great to finally hear her voice again.

Her plane just landed this morning and she asked me to come pick her up at the airport. I wasn't really sure why she was here considering why she left in the first place.

But whatever her reasoning may be, I wouldn't dare pass up the opportunity to see her again.

"Will I be seeing you tonight?"

"Not tonight. A friend of mine just arrived, so I'll be spending the day with her."

"Oh."

She looked away, but then quickly shifted her gaze back to me. I grinned, knowing that she'd just remembered how much I hate when she's not looking at me.

"I'll text you."

"Okay."

Planting a kiss to her temple, the smile on my face widened and I stood to my feet. "I made breakfast, so make sure you eat."

"I will. Thank you."

I drove straight to the airport after I left, excited to see Charlotte after all this time. I haven't seen her in almost a year, so I could hardly contain my joy.

Pulling up to the curb when I spotted her outside of baggage claim, I got out of the car and ran to hug her.

"Lottie!" I lifted her into my arms and swung her around.

"Masey!"

It was like we were kids all over again. I set her down after I realized I was making her dizzy. She chuckled sweetly, letting me ruffle her red curls.

"You cut your hair," I noticed, remembering how long it used to be. The last time I saw her, her red tresses ran down her back. But now it just hangs loosely- barely above an inch of her shoulders.

She tucked a strand behind her ear, nodding and smiling. "I did. You like it?" She asked, her high cheekbones covered in freckles.

"I do," I told her honestly. "You really look like a mom now." She playfully smacked my chest, rolling her eyes. "Speaking of being a mom..." I peeked around her, eyeing the brown haired toddler with bright brown eyes and freckles.
