Three months later (Epilogue pt. 1)
Mason's POV
I groaned out loud. "Why did I agree to do this again?"

"Because you love me and would do anything for your little sister." Harper tilted my head to the bright white light coming from her vanity mirror.

I wish I hadn't agreed to let her do my makeup, because now my eyes itch and I can't do anything about it.

"How long is this going to take, Harper? I still have to go to the airport to pick up Harlynn and her sister."

Harlynn has been in Canada with her family for the last week and a half visiting her grandparents. It's her grandparents' forty-fifth anniversary, so they're up there celebrating.

"I just need thirty more minutes to make you beautiful, and then you can go."

I sneezed when she applied the powder under my eyes and on my nose. She huffed in annoyance like she's not the one who asked me to do this.

"Now be still."

"I'm trying."

"Try harder."

I sat there for another ten minutes while Harper slapped on all kinds of shit. I don't know much about makeup, especially since Harlynn doesn't wear it often. And when she does, she always gets it all over our pillowcases and my clothes.

Adeleine entered the room with our nephew, Kaden, on her hip. She sat down on Harper's bed, giggling hysterically at the work done on my face.

"It's not that funny," I grumbled.

"You look like a diva," she commented.

I rolled my eyes and decided to engage my nephew instead. As soon as I smiled at him, he started to sob.

"Look what you did, jerk." Adeleine picked him up and tried to comfort him before Declan and Aya heard. "You scared him."

"I didn't mean to."

"What's going on in here?" My father's deep voice boomed. "Why is my grandson crying?"

"Mase scared him," Adeleine blurted out, pointing an accusatory finger at me.

She's such a little tattle-tale.

Our father sent a scowl my way before taking Kaden from Adeleine's arms. "It's okay, baby boy," he said softly, trying to calm him down. "Papa is here."

The crying stopped almost immediately as he left the room. I flipped Adeleine off and she stuck her tongue out at me.

"Stop moving," Harper chided, powdering my face some more. "I'm almost done."

"Can you please hurry up? Harlynn's going to be pissed if I'm late to pick her up."

"I would have been done by now if you weren't moving so much."

Hayden was the next person to enter the room. His face and soccer uniform was covered in grass stains and grime from practice, and he smelled like onions and ass cheeks.

"Dude, come on." I crinkled my nose, both Harper and Adeleine pinching their own noses. "You need to go shower."

"I was about to, princess," he replied snarkily, eyeing my makeup.

Him and Declan used to be the ones sitting in this chair. But now he's busy with practice and Declan's too busy being a husband and father.

Adeleine would have been the one in this chair right now if the two didn't clash so much. They're always arguing about some petty little shit.
