They're all in Jack's room as he lays in bed. Sam is sitting by the bed and Daphne is sitting at the foot of the bed. Cas and Billy are standing by the door while Dean stands by the dresser, his back to everybody else.

"Hey, hey, hey, it's all right." Sam says, helping Jack sit up. "Take it easy. Take it easy. It's all right. It's all right."

"Please don't be sad." Jack says. "Maybe... maybe this is how things are supposed to be." He says.

"Don't give me that "meant to be" crap. This isn't part of some damn plan." Dean says.

"Dean..." Cas says.

Jack starts coughing, grabbing the oxygen mask to help him breathe. Dean walks out of the room, Cas following.

"Can you tell him... it's okay?" Jack asks.

"Tell him yourself. He'll be back in a minute." Sam says.

"Sam... what happens next... for someone like me?" Jack asks.

"I don't know." Sam honestly answers.

"Then it's gonna be an adventure." Jack says. He lays back down and closes his eyes.

After a few minutes, Dean and Cas walk back in.

"He's gone." Sam quietly states.

They're standing in the hallway outside of Jack's room. Daphne is leaning against Billy and he has an arm around her.

"Maybe we should... start thinking about next steps." Cas says.

"Wake and a bonfire, hunter style. It's what Jack would've wanted." Dean says.

Sam silently walks away.

"Sam." Cas goes to follow, but Dean stops him. "Your brother's in pain."

"Just let him be. If he needs his space, we're gonna give it to him." Dean says, walking away.

Billy keeps an arm around Daphne's shoulders as he leads her away.

"You okay?" He quietly asks and Daphne sighs.

"Ask again later." She says.

"How could you just let him leave, man? You saw what he was like." Dean says as Cas drives, the two siblings sitting in the backseat.

"Dean, you said to give him space." Cas says.

"Yeah, space, in the bunker, with us, not this." Dean says.

"Dean, look." Cas says when he spots something. He pulls to a stop, the four finding Sam sitting on the ground and leaning against the Impala.

They get out and Sam stands up, seeing them. Dean storms over in anger.

"Tell me you didn't make a deal." Dean says.

"A-A-- A deal? What? No. I-I was trying to build a pyre." Sam says. "I couldn't-- I-I couldn't even do that for him. I should've done more."

"Sam--" Dean starts.

"I should have tried harder. You know, I mean, everything we got -- the spells, the lore -- what good is any of it if we couldn't even save him?" Sam asks.

"At least you were there for him." Dean says.

"This doesn't feel right. It's just not how I thought Jack's story would end." Cas says.

"Yeah. None of us did." Sam says.

"The certainty... of death, even for angels, it's always felt natural, but this doesn't. Jack being taken before his time. I mean, taken before me." Cas says.
