Sorry, I've been procrastinating posting stuff cuz ✨Percy updates

Sooo, starting off with my overall impression:

I think it's amazing, but I also hate it. 

It was very drawn out, and the writing was FAR more basic than the previous books. It was the sort of writing that a somewhat advanced 9 or 10 year old fan would write. This book definitely seems to be written to appeal to the much younger skewed part of Shannon's audience, even though many of us have been readers since book 1. It got boring at parts, and it was written with the exact generic structure of your average sokeefe fanfiction. 

Instead of having its own somewhat independent plot, similar to all the other books in the series, this one was sort of a thin cap on all 9 of them. I don't hate that because it was much needed, but this book just wasn't as rich and engrossing as the others.

That said, it also gave us a decent amount of room to theorize, which is great because that's why I made this book lol

Now, the good:

SHIPS!!!!

Sokeefe and character development:

THE SHIP HAS SAILED OH MY GODS THEY KISSED!!! I put every sokeefe related scene in the top photo in case ya'll want to go back to them (although Az, I really put them there for you hehe<3)

I'm really happy that mostly everyone had some character development or revealed flaws in this book, because it didn't happen much in the others. Sophie changed a bit and her flaws were highlighted more (which made her much more likable in my opinion), Keefe got depressed (I'll make a separate chapter on that as a part 2 to my mental health one), Marella changed, Jensi had his stuff going on, Fitz actually matured a bit more (and I actually don't hate his platonic relationship with Sophie now), Tam changed, Linh got very snarky and untrusting and overprotective, and Dex had his whole thing that he's going through right now that makes him a bit grump for the time being (which is testing his friendships).

You know what I said earlier about this being a Team Foster-Keefe fanfic? Well for us Sokeefe shippers, that isn't necessarily a bad thing

Other ships that were hinted at:

I think in every kotlc book so far, we've gotten tiny hints at a bunch of ships. Basically, Shannon was setting them up so that she had plenty of options (leaving us much space to speculate). In this book, there were some more very subtle hints at the following ships (**remember that I'm not saying I agree or disagree with these ships):

Wylinh/Lylie: it was very slowly and EXTREMLY subtle in here, but you can tell that the way they've been being set up throughout the whole series is continuing. I didn't find an exact page number.

Jensi having a crush on Biana: pg. 501

Bianex/Diana: pg. 688, 397
