Chapter 3.
"So I heard that you were looking for a shared house." Lydia states as we walk away from the class we were just in. she and I had become quite close throughout the day, she was studying law so we were in forensics together and we'd walked to lunch because the others, whom wed also befriended ditched us. In other words went to class and wanted to learn, not text us.
"Oh yeah I forgot." I tell her because I honestly had. "Wait how the hell would you know?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.
"I'm actually an assassin and have been stalking you because you're my next target." She says with a sadistic smile, I just laugh at her, "nah, Mikey just can't keep his mouth closed, I mean his worse than a girl sometimes." I agree with her on that.
"So anyways, we need another roommate, and if you would like to we'd love to have you stay with us." Lydia suggests and I'm about to jump with joy about the fact when I realize that she said her sister, no thanks, there is no way I'm living with a Barbie.
She must have seen my face fall because she frowns. "She's not that bad and besides we have other roommates and their fine. Pleaseeeeeeee?" she begs me. Bloody hell she's persistent and the fact of no longer having to wake up to the kitchen on fire persuades me.
"Ugh fine." And with that I let her drag me to the car park.
"Here we can take my car so you don't get lost and then you could stay the night and we could drop you back here tomorrow." I stop listening to her rambling on and instead focus on the rain clouds that were slowly making their way towards us.
When we get into her car is when the first fat rain drop hits the car window followed by a storm.
"God it's freezing in here!" Lydia complains as she cranks up the heat in the car, rubbing her hands together trying to heat them up. "Ugh I hate the cold, though it's not as bad as in America where if you don't wear two layers of clothes you'll freeze your flicking ass." she remarks and I just laugh. I felt fine.
"It's not even cold you wuss." I tell her as I watch the steam from my breath pattern across my window.
"Bloody English person and her bloody uncoldness and her bloody...." I cut her off with a small chuckle. And she huffs and turns on her music.
I'm blasted with what sounds to me like a hillbilly singing his sorrows whilst playing the banjo. And I can't help but make a face as I see her singing along. I just can't help it, I crack up at her face and the way her mouth looks like a gaping fish each time she opens it.
"My god woman, this is horrible, I mean I have nothing against country music but this is just.... wow." I tell her and she looks at me shocked.
Lydia places a hand over her heart and sings as loud as she could along to the music blasting through the speakers. When it's finally over she turns and faces me. "I'm wounded that you think so little of my music." she says as she glares at me.
"Just turn that thing off before my ears bleed and I smash that radio to a lot of little pieces." now it's her turn to laugh at me.
As she pulls up into the shared house I can't help but let out a squeal of delight. Lydia looks at me strangely and asks "you like the house?"
"there, over there, oh my god it's a Marcos, just around...corner, so close, wow, yes...macros. Yay." I finally get out as I look over at the Marcos which was beside the little building that we just pulled up in.
"So this is the house then." Lydia says as she tugs my arm into the house.
"Don't worry about size, the rooms are upstairs and bathrooms and a games rooms and lounge room, this is just kitchen and dining and yeah." she says sheepishly. I hope you like it." as she leads me upstairs and gives me a tour.
"So this is baileys room, don't enter or mind him, he's barely ever home." she says motioning to a closed door with do not enter signs across it. "And then this is Percy's. I suggest you don't go into there because the mess could kill you." pointing towards a plain door with Percy written on it. "Then these two are Dianna's and mine, this is daisy's room." her door was covered in paintings and drawings that I couldn't help but marvel at. "And this will be your room, if you decided to stay." she says leading me into a back room with a window showing the city outside. I loved it.
"so that's the house," she says leading me into the living room once again." so I'm gonna go get a drink you want one?"
"Sure." I reply and with that she leaves me alone sitting on the couch daydreaming.
"Get outta my spot," a gruff voice demands behind me and I come face to face with a very tall man in a leather jacket.
"Uhhh." I say not knowing whether to be intimidated or stubborn, I decide the latter. "No."
"What did you just say to me, I don't think I heard you correctly?"
I said no you nitwit."
"You wanna say that again?" he says threateningly.
"You nitwit." I say standing up and staring him down.
"Percy, jean stop fighting, I bought drinks." Lydia says and true to her word she's carrying drinks in her hand. "here." and she tosses it to me but jacket here intercepts.
"Hey that is mine,"
"And that's my spot on the couch" he says whilst still sipping my drink.
"Well listen hear jacket...." I say but he interrupts me.
"No you listen here 'denim'." his voice laced with venom. "You don't live here and you don't own the place so shut up before you regret it."
"Please stop fighting." a girl with red hair stands between us and pushes us gently away from each other.
We turn our glare over to her instead of each other and she steps back in fright. "Please don't hurt me." she tells us.
I can't help but laugh and I step back. "By the way jacket, I'm your new roommate so I will be living here and that is now my spot on the couch" I say as my glare returns to him. Wait why did I just say I was going to be living here? Damn my refusal to back down from a challenge.
"So then, jean this is daisy and Percy." she says motioning to the two other people now in the living room. Jacket glares at me. "And guys this is jean who is becoming our roommate. Try not to kill each other.
I can already tell that this will be craziness.
