“You're telling me this fourteen-year-old boy is the one working with Dream and the same person that was trying to kill me yesterday, and you are still letting him in our house and showing our identities? You are insane, Phil. He needs to leave before we give away anything Dream is going to use against us.”
“Wil, calm down. He’s just a boy, he’s scared,” Phil defended Tommy, trying to quiet down his son before the two outside heard.
“You cannot tell me to calm down. This kid; he’s tried to kill me. He is working with Dream, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s some kind of spy or something. I am not letting him stay here,” Wilbur yelled back, restating his point. Philza was tired of his bickering, and frankly, he wasn’t going to fight him about this.
“Wilbur, I am not arguing with you. He’s staying until we can get him healed and figure out why Dream would have left him here. If he’s up to anything, we’ll know and we can use him to get Dream caught. Just, please, don’t say anything. I need to talk with Techno in private, you see if you can get any more than we can out of him.” Phil didn’t give time for Wilbur to dispute, opening the door to cut off the conversation as a whole.
“Techno,” he called him over, getting the man out of his chair and by his side. He pulled him into the room, only stopping by Wilbur. “Be nice.” He muttered, pushing him out of the doorway and shutting it behind him.
“Wow, okay,” Wilbur murmured to himself, walking over and slouching into the chair across from Tommy. “Wilbur,” he told him.
Tommy just looked vacantly at him, gaping at the familiarity of his face. The man had different clothes on now, changed out of his suit. For some reason, he now had glasses. He was wearing a yellow sweater, nice black pants, and brown boots that increased his height slightly.
“It’s my name: Wilbur. What’s yours?”
“Uh..Thes- Theseus,” He quickly retorted, spitting out the same answer he did last time.
“Well, no shit. I meant your real name.” Wilbur rolled his eyes, letting out a small chuckle.
“Tommy.”
“Tommy?” Wilbur repeated. “That’s a stupid name,” he joked.
“You have a stupid name,” Tommy retaliated.
“You know if I didn’t hate your guts you’d be kind of funny,” Wilbur smiled, vaguely complimenting the boy to ease his nerves.
“I recognise you,” Tommy tolled in unexpectedly. He frowned at the man’s cheeky expression. He had a stupid smile for no reason.
“So you remember trying to kill me?”
“No.”
“You tried to.”
“Maybe you deserved it.”
Wilbur laughed again at their stupid quarreling. Tommy just sunk further down into his chair, if that was possible. For some idiotic reason, he liked the feeling of his laugh. His presence was just calming, not filled with tension. Tommy tried to ignore that, knowing he should probably hate him. If he knew who he was, then he probably knew Dream, and then shit would go down as if that wasn’t already set in stone at this point.
“What do you remember? Of me, I mean. Phil told me you don’t know anything else.” Wilbur questioned him conceitedly.
“You seem quite full of yourself, Wilbur,” Tommy spat out playfully. It felt weirdly right to be so comfortable around him. He quickly looked away, however, feeling much more shy after accidentally blurting.
