Tomioka Giyuu. A quiet and young man that has been tru alot. A person that the other hasiras would like to call "full of himself" or "childish".

But he wasn't any of that. He didn't think of himself at all acctually,he thinks that he is ussless and worthless. He always carried a sorrowful expression with him that holds sadness and regret. He also has a haori that he thinks is very important.

Both sides of it hold a tragic story behind it . The dark red half is from his sister, a beautiful woman that he really loved but, everything comes to an end. It was the day before her wedding when a demon broke in. Giyuu was playing with Tsutako and getting her ready to marry the love of her life. Tsutako was in another room getting ready when the demon broke in. While Tomioka was sitting on her bed patiently waiting for her to return so he could do her hair she came running and took Tomioka and put him in a closet while Tomioka had her haori with him. He stayed and didn't make a sound because that's what his elder sister told him to.

As he sat quietly not making a sound he heard muffled screams and cries ,cries of pure pain. He started crying hushedly as he heard her screams become quieter and quieter. As the muffled sounds stopped he wanted to go and check what happend.

When he got to her room he stared in pure shock and sadness.

His sister stayed laying on the ground unconscious  with her stomach ripped appart and her organs scattering the place .

Tomioka couldn't belive what he witnessed. He began crying trying to wake her up but she just wouldn't come back to life.

As he took her dark red haori, he outed the house in order to find someone who could help him

He was in his home town, crying and begging for someone to help his sister because she was eaten by a demon.

Nobody believed him.

Even worse they thought that he was mentally ill and needed serious help.

A villager knew a close family member to him that was also a doctor. When the doctor came he saw him. It was the same man that r@ped him. He got scared because he didn't want to go so he ran away. He ran and ran tears flowing from his eyes like crazy. Eventually he ran out of stamina and got knocked out on the cold snow. While a hunter heard some sounds coming from a past of the forest. As he was walking he happened to stumble upon Tomioka who looked like he was dead but he wasn't. The hunter took him and wrapped around him a warm cloth that he had with him so he won't die from freezing. The hunter went to Urokodaki and told him the story. Urokodaki understood and he took the sleeping child from the hunters hands and shut down the door. As Urokodaki walked to his room another child with peach covered hair and pastel purple eyes asked who the black haired child was. As Urokodaki told him the story the peach haired child had shine in his eyes and sisnt want to wait for the second day so he could train along with Tomioka.

It was the second day and Tomioka woke up and looked around and was scared if the doctor took him or not. He heard quiet foot steps and pretended to be asleep. As the old man placed the three  bowls of upon on the counter. He sat down next to the child and woke him up. Tomioka prevented to wake up and asked him who he was. Urokodaki told him every thing and Sabito entered the room excitedly seeing his new friend. As they sat down and ate they developed a family like relationship.

As Sabito and Giyuu trained for years they were ready to go to the final selection. They got there and were met with a bunch of different demons.

Giyuu got hurt quickly after encountering a demon .

Sabito  saw and rapidly slashed the demons head reassuring Giyuu that everything will be alright.
As they fought and fought they ran into the hand demon . Giyuu wasn't there because Murata got him and took him to a safe place until the final selection ends. As Sabito was about to slash the demons head his sword snapped . A  shock face from the peach haired kid and a laugh from the demon as she squished his head making it explode.

It ended.

The final selection ended. Everyone survived. Well almost.

Giyuu was sitting up from a bed with Murata by his side. As Giyuu asked Murata where Sabito is Murata looked down with a look of guilt. He told Giyuu that he died while getting his head squished and the only thing that he could've recover was his haori. Murata left giving Giyuu time to procces what had he just heard. He started crying carelessly letting his tears flow like crazy. He couldn't stop. The paing and the tears couldn't stop. It hurt him to hear that his best buddy died protecting him. He cried and cried for days not eating and not sleeping cutting his wrists had became a habit. He couldn't stop. He thought that if he did that the regret and guilt would go away but it didn't.  Why didn't he die. Why were the people that he cared for always ended up leaving him. He couldn't understand . The voices in his head couldn't stop saying how weak and pathetic he was. Which he admitted to.

He was now 19 and was given the title of the water hashira that he knew damn well he dosent deserve it and that Sabito should've been the one.

He was now 21 years old and still working as a demon slayer . There  were new hashiras and he thought that they hated him. He thought that the thought that he was weak worthless to sum it up a litteral piece of shit. And he knew it . He stayed isolated from them every time. When one of the hashiras asked why he didn't wanna sit with them he would say that he isn't like them . There were 3 people that thought that he stated the fact that he was stronger then them when he knew he was weaker than them and that he should be dead right now. They were Sanemi Shinobu and Obanai. He feared Pbanai and Sanemi the most  because they were the meanest of them all. They would parterner up togheter and would call him shifty names.

And that's the story of the water pillar.
