Arriving at the location, Y/N took a little peek through the transparent window built into the door and saw that it was dark inside.

"Joy, are you sure we're supposed to be here? It seems a little too quiet to me"

"I'm certain! Phoenix himself told us to come out... Unless he's playing games with us! And he-"

"And he managed to fool the genius engineer? HAH! How cruel of him~"

Y/N laughed at the sight of the engineer looking as if they want to strangle the life out of fire boy once she gets her hands on him.

"Whatever, we're here already. Why not grab a cup of coffee?"

"I swear, Joy you drink coffee like it's water"

"A great percentage of coffee is made up with hot water. So technically it is water"

"Sure, whatever you say miss engineer"

Kill Joy snickered at the comment. She pushed open the door and held it open for Hyacinth. The botanist smiled and thanked her before feeling the wall for a light switch.

Turning on the lights, they were greeted with loud voices coming from the target room that was connected to the cafeteria.

"TURN IT OFF!"

Puzzled, KJ looked at the agents sitting down on the floor of the training room. A film was about to begin, it was being projected against a white background connected to the wall.

"Of all places to watch a movie, you decide to watch here. Why?"

The botanist asked. With a chuckle, Kj put a hand on top of their head and looked at them with this amused look.

"The speakers! I modified the speakers to sound less static, that may be the reason why our boss over here decided to turn the training ground into a movie theatre"

"Alright kid, you got me. Now just turn off the lights before I turn off yours"

"Alright alright."

KJ let out another chuckle before turning off the lights. Meanwhile, Hyacinth waited for her to get to their side before swiping her agent card on the swipe thing by the door to open it.

They both took a seat behind the crowd and we were offered popcorn and soda by Raze and Jett.

"What's the film?"

Hyacinth asked Jett as she accepted the soda.

"The Asylum, Brim wants us to catch up on Halloween since we missed it due to some missions"

"Awe, how thoughtful of the big man"

KJ commented, Hyacinth lightly hit her on the shoulder before letting out a chuckle of their own. They took the blanket on the floor beside them and offered KJ to share the blanket with them.

"No thanks, I don't get cold easily"

Hyacinth nodded before turning their attention back to the movie.

-•Fast forward•-

30 minutes into the movie now, Y/N distracted themselves from the jump scares by munching on popcorn and downing soda's at the same time.

"Slow down. Instead of getting scared of the movie, I might get terrified from you chocking on popcorn and soda"

The engineer whispered to them, Hyacinth smiled and looked at her. Their faces were inches away from each other.

"Am I hearing things, or are you concerned for my well being?"

KJ rolled her eyes before backing away and leaning against the wall.

"Of course I am, you're an agent. And a valuable asset on top of that"

She answered nonchalantly. Hyacinth snickered, she smiled at the engineer before holding their hand which sent a little shock through the self-proclaimed genius.

She looked at their intertwined hands and back at the botanist who has their attention on the movie.

She shrugged and brought her attention back to the film, a jump scared appeared when she did. Everyone shared their shocked expression and screams, but what stood out the most to her was the little squeak coming from the botanist beside her. Who, amazingly, managed to hide under the blanket.

Kj smiled sweetly at the cute sight before squeezing their hand. She leaned over them and whispered.

"Hold me if you feel scared"

Y/N peeked out of the blanket and looked into her beautiful olive eyes, a light blush spreading across their cheeks as acacia blossoms appeared on the wall behind them.

"Thank you"

They said softly before leaning their head on her shoulder. KJ smiled and pat their head, a warm feeling filling her heart.
